Next Game @ Golden Knights

The Blackhawks try to snap their 6-game losing skid against the always tough Golden Knights in their own barn. This will be Marc-Andre Fleury's second homecoming game of the season after playing in Pittsburgh on October 16. The Vegas crowd is sure to be loud for him as it was in Montreal when he won #300.

Look for the Hawks to go back to the standard 12F/6D lineup format after Nicolas Beaudin played a mere 1 minute and 11 seconds on Thursday against the Coyotes. Riley Stillman did start that game at wing which isn't a foreign position for him as he had substantial forward experience prior to being drafted in 2016.

Game Notes

* Collin Delia earned the shutout on 30 saves and with superb structure and composure between the pipes as he was efficient in his puck tracking and crease movements.

* Lukas Reichel clearly had a big night offensively with 2 goals and 2 assists; his game was powered by vision, speed, shiftiness, and constant pursuit of the puck.

* Michal Teply had his best game of the season not only with his first goal and 7 SOGs but also excellent board work being strong on the puck and protected it once in possession.

* Evan Barratt may not be a prototypical assist machine but he's an adept puck distributor; he also runs his mouth a lot as opponents want to demolish him even with no physical provocation.

* Jakub Pour and Cam Morrison -- who scored his first as a pro -- each notched a goal which hopefully jump starts them as they've both been inconsequential wingers all season.

* Alec Regula can make some pretty lazy outlet feeds and loves the stretch pass; he needs to use his feet more to exit the zone with the puck.

* It's just the minor leagues but the decision to keep dressing a one-trick pony in Dmitri Osipov over more skilled and promising prospects like Carson Gicewicz is mind boggling.

IceHogs Updates

Brandon Pirri reportedly signed with the IceHogs for a third tour of duty because he is campaigning to make Team Canada for the Winter Olympics next month. In his first game back last night, he was barely noticeable until he decided to cherry pick which is okay to do in an 8-0 blowout. He's still offensively talented.

Prospect Updates

2020 draft pick Michael Krutil has departed the IceHogs to sign with the Vaxjo Lakers of the Swedish elite league (SHL) for the remainder of the season. He will join 2021 draft pick Victor Stjernborg who has been injured since early November. Krutil has struggled in the AHL during the past 2 years.
