Next Game vs Ducks
The high-flying Ducks invade Chicago with a roster that boasts young phenoms Trevor Zegras, Troy Terry, and Jamie Drysdale. Don't focus on them too much as other up-and-comers -- Isac Lundestrom, Jacob Perreault, and Brayden Tracey -- can't be discounted. Don't forget Anaheim also has Mason McTavish who is back in juniors.
When you see an outstanding talent like Zegras who has electrifying moves and an uncanny ability to put on a show, is there wonder whether the end of an era led by Patrick Kane is converging tonight with the start of a new era led by Zegras? Kane may still have decent tread on his tires to play into his 40’s but Zegras is just getting started.

Game Notes
* Arvid Soderblom played big in net with many point blank saves and stonings on breakaways; in total he stopped 33 of 35 shots.
* None of the IceHogs blueliners exhibited any constancy with the capacity to escape from their end by skating the puck out and up on their own in last night's game.
* Though he has great mobility, Wyatt Kalynuk needs to add consistency in carrying the mail up ice himself; he is guilty as any of the young D in making lazy passes by not moving his feet.
* It wouldn't be a surprise if the Blackhawks extend an NHL contract to Dylan McLaughlin this summer; he is so smooth at zone entries, weaving around the offensive zone, and making plays in all situations.
* Michal Teply has been heating up ever since the turn of the new year; he knows how to sneak into scoring areas or simply crash the crease while patrolling the boards when necessary.
* Andrei Altybarmakian has also been hot of late with 2 goals and 3 assists in 3 games so far in 2022; he uses his tenacious forechecking to force turnovers and create space for linemates.
* The Hogs and Monsters are back at it again tonight for the second half of the back-to-back affair.

IceHogs Updates
With Nicolas Beaudin, Ian Mitchell, and Josiah Slavin reassigned to Rockford, the IceHogs were able to send winger Riley McKay back to the Indy Fuel and release defenseman Mike Lee from his PTO. Once Lukas Reichel's cup of coffee is over, he will resume his role as the Hogs 1C.

Calvin de Haan
While Calvin de Haan's frustration prior to this play was understandable, slew footing another player is always a dangerous move. At least he wasn't suspended during a time when the Blackhawks can't afford to lose another veteran D-man with Seth Jones and Jake McCabe in COVID protocol.

Louis Crevier
In recent months, 2021 draft classmates Taige Harding and Ethan Del Mastro have won Defenseman of the Week and Month Awards primarily as rewards for their offensive stats. An infographic like the above is what you want to see about a D prospect: they can actually excel at defense.
