I know the term is goose egg, but, you know...
The United Center crowd witnessed a goalie duel between Marc-Andre Fleury and Lukas Dostal who each faced 35+ shots. Dostal was amazing in net stopping 33 of 35 shots but Fleury was even better turning away all 37 en route to his 70th career shutout. The Blackhawks won their 4th straight after previously losing 6 in a row.

Scoring Recap
* On the 1st goal scored, Riley Stillman batted the puck out of his team's crease then cleared it and connected with Erik Gustafsson who just exited the penalty box before he feathered a feed to Brandon Hagel.
* On the 2nd goal scored, a defensive flurry in their end led to a quick passing sequence to exit the zone sending Alex DeBrincat and Patrick Kane up ice as they executed a give-and-go for the tally.
* On the 3rd goal scored, Dominik Kubalik buried the empty netter on a partial breakaway.
Game Notes
* Calvin de Haan was active on the top pair with an assist, 4 blocks, 5 hits, and a takeaway.
* Connor Murphy was also on the top pair and contributed 2 blocks and 2 hits, one of which was a thunderous jolt to Ducks phenom Trevor Zegras.
* Stillman is on an offensive tear of late racking up a goal and 5 assists over the past 5 games.
* Jakub Galvas is proving to be adept at gaining the inside defensively no matter where he is in his end; he generally has solid positioning which helps to make up for his lack of size.
* Lukas Reichel continues to use his speed and agility to provide support in all zones; he engages himself constantly even without the puck on his blade.
* Sam Lafferty made an impact all over the ice with 4 shots, a block, 3 hits, and going 50% at the dot all while using his disruptive speed to push the opposition back on their heels.
* Brett Connolly entered COVID protocol yesterday.

Game Notes
* Not only do the Hogs blueliners need to use their feet more to escape the zone, they need their partners and forwards to get open and create open seams for outlets.
* To be fair, compared to Friday's game, the defensemen were much better at advancing the puck up ice by skating it to at least the neutral zone which generated more options.
* Alec Regula assisted on all 4 goals for the Hogs.
* Mike Hardman has been an offensive catalyst (3 goals and 3 assists in 7 games) for the Hogs in his brief stints as he frequently shuttles between Chicago and Rockford.
* Riley McKay was recalled and played on the 3rd line after Josiah Slavin was recalled back to the Blackhawks earlier in the day along with Ian Mitchell.
