On PhiladelphiaFlyers.com and the Flyers Daily podcast, Travis Sanheim reflects on the rollercoaster 2022-23 season. Most the campaign was a signficant down season for the player, who signed an eight-year contract extension before the season that kicks in for 2023-24 and contains a full no-trade clause for the first four years.

He did not come anywhere close to matching his 2021-22 season in which he was the shoo-in winner of the Barry Ashbee Trophy. The nadir of 2022-23 came when he was a healthy scratch for a game in Calgary, in the arena where he played his junior hockey for the Hitmen and with his parents, twin brother and many friends in the stands. However, Sanheim had upticks in his play in November and the final several weeks of the season.
