Seattle Trades Wennberg To Rangers

The Kraken have acquired a 2024 2nd and a 4th in 2025 in exchange for dealing Alex Wennberg to the New York Rangers. Seattle also retains 50% on the deal.

The Wennberg era finally comes to a close. I was never wild about the player. He was a fine if over priced 3rd line centre and never generated enough offense to justify his minutes. He will be a good depth add for the Rangers but overall this is a nice piece of business for Ron Francis.

Now I wonder if the Kraken will recall Shane Wright. It's clear the Kraken are out of the playoff race and they should be playing their kids and making preparations for how to spend their assets this summer. Call Wright up and see how he fares playing in a middle six role instead of the 8 minutes a night they tried to play him the last time he was up.

Wright has 19 goals and 33 points in 46 games with his first full season in the AHL.

Nothing on Eberle or Schultz yet. It still seems like the plan is that both sides want to extend Eberle.
