Let’s not sugarcoat the resilience of the Alberta animals. The last three games have been simply huge.. I have talked about the Sabres south raising the cup over their heads, but I actually don’t care who wins. Watching number 97 is a privilege, and realizing he is one of the greatest of all time, you can’t help rooting for him to get one under his belt. As for Florida, the Donald said it best, “Our country is in serious trouble. We don’t have victories any more. We used to have victories, but now, we don’t have them. When was the last time anybody saw us beating, let’s say, China, in a trade deal? They kill us. I beat China all the time. All the time.” Unfortunately, the Panthers are fighting against the whole country of Canada and the sport they covet. McAwesome has 42 points in 24 games. It actually just isn’t normal. When you watch him carry the puck you almost just want to tell him to slow it down. Guys hack and converge because there is no doubt who is bringing the biscuit over the blueline. Nobody can keep up with him. Let’s not also forget that he is so humble and gracious. Even Evander Kane can’t take the spotlight away with his on the spectrum antics. If he takes over game seven, the MVP is his and it will be the greatest comeback of all time. He will be ingrained for eternity as a hero, and rightly deserved. This is what we love to see in this sport. We had to swallow the reality of Eichel, but this could right the ship.

In regards to Kyle, I made reference to not having a problem seeing him win the big one at the end of his career, and I took a lot of guff from some of the loyal hockeybuzz faithful. After hearing some of his comments in an interview, I have wavered to the dark side a little. When he didn’t dress the other night, I was happy that he might have to join a celebration in a suit. He actually referenced that he didn’t feel like the old guy when his teammates spoke about him in that fashion. We know he was a bit of a cancer this past year in the blue and gold, and he didn’t carry his Doug Weight. Is he that delusional? He doesn’t realize that he is a tortoise amongst rabbits? Being “good in the room” starts to ring hollow when your place is in the press box. Penalty minutes on the stat sheet. I know he is a good guy and loyal, but I am starting to think that he might have been an anchor holding us back. The line probably should have been cut a few years ago.

People want me to talk about the draft but I am just not going to do it. I understand that there is pertinent information that we should look at, but I 100% want the pick to be traded. If we don’t get two high end veterans in the lineup, our vision is seriously flawed. It is pretty simple, our bottom six isn’t good enough and we have too many prospects that might never play. We are so close, and management better not screw this up. Teams are already making moves and we still are silent. The recent token press conference by Adams was a joke. He said nothing, and therefore can’t be criticized as a liar. I am tired of wasting time with grammar school rhetoric. Do they really think that we are that stupid? I am insulted with the dog and pony show. It is time to make something happen and bring us some serious hope. Grab the horns, bloody your knuckles, be brave enough to bungie jump. We are all waiting for the leap of faith that shows us that you want people in the building. The clock is ticking and you better buy an expensive watch. Be the high priests of expense accounts. Put your money where you mouth is and don’t let us down.

Skinner –

I really like this guy and his quirky personality. I enjoy his unorthodox skill set, and love when he is on a roll. There is nobody more-streaky in the league than Jeff, and when he brings the nasty, it only helps his game. Unfortunately, the unpredictability in his proficiency is a problem, and he is not productive playing with scrubs. I personally would like to see him stay, but his cap number and term is an issue for sure. The NHL is not a league that restructures contracts, but this is a situation that screams for it. If there is a buyout, we better be replacing him with a stud. If he can bounce back and be one of our top scorers on a nightly basis if we don’t part ways, that would be a blessing. Nothing bad to say about 53.

Buckle up for game seven, these two teams have shown us that winning can be achieved in different ways. Whoever is victorious, there would be great stories for both sides. I am a Reinhart fan as you all know, but watching McDavid play at the speed that he does is breathtaking. The kid should hold the metal at least once. Perhaps he can bring back the cheese for Edmonton –
