Canadian teams were 5-0-0 on Thursday night and the playoff picture still remains cloudy. Montreal winning and Columbus losing, means the Habs are in sole possession of the WC2. Ottawa winning means they are 8 points clear of the Rangers who are the first team on the outside looking in.

The Jackets were hammered at home by the Avalanche, but Colorado does that to a lot of teams.
Columbus goes into Toronto tomorrow night, feeling shame. They are 3-7-1 in their last 11 games, two of the wins went to a shootout, so they were like Oprah in that span, points for you, points for you.

If they didn't slump like this, Habs would be on the outside looking in.Columbus has been shutout three times, in their past 10 games. Jackets have been shutout 7 times this season which is T3rd most in the NHL season. Nashville has been shutout the most, 10 instances, remind me how they put up 5 on the Leafs?

Tampa lost in Ottawa on Thursday, so the Leafs are 3 up on TB, 4 up on FLA and Leafs visit both those teams next week. They are all even games at 75.

The big game of the night on Friday is Ovechkin, Capitals at home to Chicago. Ovie is sitting on 892 goals. He does have a hat-trick against Chicago, happened in Dec 2022.
Be back Saturday to tee up Leafs and Columbus
