The Toronto Maple Leafs took care of one of few remaining pieces of summer business, as they signed forward Connor Dewar to a one-year contract worth $1.18 million.

The 25-year-old was acquired by the Leafs at the trade deadline for minor league forward Dmitry Ovchinnikov and a 2026 fourth-round pick, and had five points (1 goal, 4 assists) in 17 games with Toronto.

Dewar was enjoying a career year with Minnesota at the time of the trade, with 10 goals in 57 games. The versatile forward can play both center and wing, which will give new head coach Craig Berube some options on the Leafs fourth line next season.
