The Panthers are struggling as of late and will take on a 13-6-1 Capitals team that are currently in third place of the Metropolitan Division.

The biggest thing on Florida’s side tonight is that Ovechkin is currently out with a fractured fibula. I was hoping to see him as he chases the Great One’s record, but he was unfortunately bitten by the injury bug.

From Litter Box Cats:

The Capitals haven’t been the same since losing Alex Ovechkin to injury. Ovechkin was leading the league in goals when he left a 6-2 win over Utah early in the third period with a fractured fibula. Without their legendary sniper, Washington’s offense has sputtered as the team dropped a 2-1 decision to the Avalanche and were beaten 3-2 by the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. Dylan Strome leads the Capitals in scoring with 28 points.”

Probably the best mentality to have heading into tonight is that of Anton Lundell:

Some poor play as of late, but not time to panic. Cats have to get gritty and just grind out each shift.

Knight in net. Let’s see if he can step up his game as well.
