Kevin Gibson on Leafs: Next up Oilers. |

Leafs have been consistent lately, and not in the good sense. Offence has been offensive. 1 goal in each of their last 3 games, losing all of them, 0/5 on the power play, not even like they're drawing penalties. They embark on a 4 game road trip tomorrow beginning in Edmonton. Oilers blew a 2-0 lead at home on Thursday night against the Wings, dropping 3-2 in a shootout.
Leafs have not lost 4 straight this season, they are 3-6-0 in their last 9GP and have dropped out of first place in the Atlantic. Only 6 points separates the Leafs who are 2nd in the division and Boston who are sitting out of a wild card spot. Needless to say, this road trip is kind of a big deal. Need to find their scoring touch again, get some offence back from injuries. And hey, just play some good hockey. No cliche's "get pucks deep", no, get pucks in the net. Write that down.
Toronto has lost their last two trips into Edmonton.Leafs are 1-0 vs Oilers this season, 4-3 OT win at home.
Edmonton has points in their last 4 games, (3-0-1), all games at home.
Since January 22, Leafs have 3 goals, 10 players have more goals than that.
Fewest Goals Jan 22 to Present
Leafs 3
Blues 4
(4 teams with 6)
Leafs need to have a Wheaties meeting obviously or that motivational speaker from The Natural, to help end this skid.
