I’ve been doing my research on the UFA’s for my summer chart and talking to some flyers sources regarding possible targets ….Today we’re gonna start with the centers because that really is probably this team‘s biggest need. Who is going to be the center that really gets Michkov going?

The Flyers are not gonna sit back in free agency. If they get a top pic center in the draft that could change things a bit, but still they’re going to spend this summer… they haven’t had this kind of space since Danny Briere signed in Philly…

Here is a list of the top 3 Centers the Flyers are looking at…(in no particular order…)

Brock Nelson.

He is 33 years old, which is old for this team, but he can fly like the wind still, and if you can get them on a 2-3 year deal for high money. the Flyers can afford that.

Claude Giroux

This would be something wouldn’t it? But the reality is Giroux is one of the best free agent centers available this summer and has really had a rebirth this year. Obviously love playing here, and brings the work ethic that could really rub off on the young players like Michkov… how to play every shift like it’s your last… which Claude learned in Philly from Jagr.

Sam Bennet

Probably the number one center available this summer and also very likely to stay in Florida, but if for some reason the Panthers couldn’t afford it, he would be absolutely perfect here… speed. Nasty, and a sniper scoring touch. He would be adored as a Flyer, and perhaps he wants to go to a place where you can be the number one center….
