Jets Continue To Land In Buffalo |

The Winnipeg Jets are embroiled in a battle royale with young power forward Evander Kane. The team and the player are better off without one another. Its best for both parties that they part company.
The Jets and Kane trade rumors have been linked to the Buffalo Sabres and Arizona Coyotes. Both teams are in the NHL cellar and won't need Kane to play the rest of this season while he recovers from the shoulder surgery that he underwent last Saturday.
I can't see the Jets trading Kane to another Western conference team because they will have to play head to head against him for the next decade. I see the Jets trading Kane to a team in the Eastern Conference. The one team that has the most to offer to the Jets as compensation for Kane is the Buffalo Sabres. GM Tim Murray has all of the prerequisites to create a win/win trade with the Jets for Kane:
Oodles of cap space, a wealth young players, blue chip prospects, and high quality draft choices.
Tonight, the Jets are sending their Director of Pro Scouting to Buffalo to watch the Sabres play the Ottawa Senators play.
Last Thursday, Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff dispatched his AGM and a pro scout to Buffalo to watch the Sabres play the Blues.
On Saturday night, there were no Jets representatives in Buffalo to watch the Sabres and the Dallas Stars. The Jets once again sent a pro scout to Buffalo to watch the Sabres-Islanders game on Sunday night.
The NHL trade deadline is three weeks from today (March 2) and Sabres GM Tim Murray will be busy making deals between now and then. His pending free agents are forwards Chris Stewart, Drew Stafford, and Torrey Mitchell. Murray also has pending UFAs in defensemen Andrej Meszaros and Andre Benoit. Jhonas Enroth and Movhal Neuvirth are also playing on expiring contracts.
Other heavy hitters taking in the Sabres-Sens game tonight:
Nashville Predators Assistant GM.
Calgary Flames Special Assistant to GM Brian Burke.
Washington Capitals Director of Minor League Operations
The Carolina Hurricanes, San Jose Sharks and Arizona Coyotes will also have scouts in attendance in Buffalo tonight.
