Happy second day of hockey! Last night was a great kickoff to the season to say the least…and all these pools and fantasy games got me thinking. Why not a challenge based on my childhood favorite publication, "The Hockey Digest" and their "Who's better.." stories?
Of course the problem with the "Who's better?" question is it impossible to quantify the word "better." So instead, how about a "Who will score more goals?" contest pitting players together? And maybe some prizes to the winners just for fun....
So here goes. Pick one of each of the following players in each contest, and then for a tie breaker list the top three NHL goal scores this season. (if we are still tied there will be a contest determined by me during the playoffs to decide the winner)
The #1 winner will win an NHL Jersey Customized, the second place winner will win a copy of NHL 17, and third, fourth, and fifth will win hockeybuzz t-shirts. I will lock this thread Monday, October 12th prior to the games and copy the pages…so I am even giving you a weekend to think about it and change your picks…however, you won't be able to change your picks in March! (I know how you work!)
Also, if you are willing to personally challenge my picks and can beat them I will give you a season ticket for next season to hockeybuzz...but if I win…you will promise to buy one (or donate $20 to Hockey Fights Cancer) ..scouts honor. If you are willing to accept this challenge just add, "I challenge Ek" to your answers in the reply. If you don't want to accept the challenge but just want to go for the prizes that is fine too…wimpy, but fine.. just write, “I don’t challenge Ek, just want to win prizes.”
