The Coyotes lost to the Sabres last night by a score of 2-1 and, as luck would have it, it was should-be Coyote Jack Eichel doing most of the damage.
And not just by scoring one goal and assisting on the other - he also hurt the feelings of the Coyotes when he said that he was "Fortunate to go to Buffalo."
I have never been to Buffalo, but it does have the distinction of being the butt of many jokes about bad cities. Maybe it's a nice place. I don't know. But, based on what I do know from TV, books and movies, no one ever wants to go to Buffalo.
So to want to go there instead of the hockey hotbed of Arizona.....well, Sir, that just hurts.
Eichel who's curly hair reminds one of a young Randy Newman, scored the aforementioned two points and was fun to watch all night long. Eichell has 29 points in 46 games, while posting a 45% possession rating and centering the Sabres second line.
I wish the Coyotes got him, but what can you do?

Of note: Dylan Strome, who the Coyotes did get, has 65 points in 31 games and is third in OHL scoring for the Erie Otters. Fellow Coyotes prospect Christian Dvorak is second with 75 points in 32 games.

It should also be noted that although Louis Domingue lost his first regulation game in 11 starts, he did not allow an even-stregth goal, which is pretty much as good as getting a shut-out, since power-play goals can't really be laid at the feet of the goalie.

I wish people would give it a rest. I think everyone (except me) is losing sight of the fact that it's an ALLSTAR GAME. That is, it's a game not worth watching that exists exclusively to sell product and schmooze corporately.
