As confirmed by the Montreal Canadiens themselves today, Carey Price is not accompanying the team on their trip to Florida due to a Lower Body Injury (LBI).

The news is deflating and concerning....

Some folks on social media think the Habs are covering for Price's absence due to the incoming birth of his 2nd child, but I highly doubt that. Injuries are reported for roster and managerial purposes so this is likely legit.

It's just terrible timing with the Canadiens returning from Christmas Break and Price playing very well of late. Price's injury comes after he's gone 7-2-0 in his last 10 appearances and allowing 2 or less goals 7 times over that span.

This latest injury is also concerning...

Price's injuries are becoming almost like a new routine and less a question of "If" he will be injured and more of a "When". We are almost expecting an injury from Price and hoping it won't be at an inopportune time. Well, this is as inopportune as they come and with Lindgren injured in Laval it looks like we will get a steady stream of Niemi starts with McNiven likely backing him up.

I am a massive Price fan and supporter.... but I am happy we have C Primeau in the system right now.

Habs don't play until Friday night (tomorrow) against the Florida Panthers and again the next day against the Tampa Bay Lightning. If the Canadiens come out of this weekend with 4 points I'll call it a Christmas Miracle.

That said, Go Habs Go
