The New York Islanders play their second elimination game of the series tonight, as they face the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Final.

New York was able to extend the series on Tuesday with a 2-1 double overtime win in Game 5.

Semyon Varlamov was really strong in the win and managed to outplay Andrei Vasilevskiy, which was a difference-maker. Tonight, Varlamov will need to be just as good and while the Islanders can continue limiting key chances, it only matters if he’s on his game.

It’ll be interesting to see whether New York goes with 11 forwards and seven defense again but my guess would be that they do. Barry Trotz often runs with the same lineup after a win and changes things up after a loss, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see Johnny Boychuk in again.

For the Lightning, Brayden Point, who’s missed two games in the series so far, including Game 5, will be a game time decision.

The Islanders are 2-0 when facing elimination in the playoffs so far and hopefully they'll be able to keep the momentum going after their double overtime win. They’ve shown they can keep up with the Lightning and they need to do their best to avoid going down early and having to battle back.

Puck drop is at 8 p.m.
