The Anaheim Ducks picked up their eighth straight win last night, defeating the Washington Capitals 3-2 in overtime. However, one of the key stories from the evening was captain Ryan Getlzaf reaching 1,000 career points.
Getzlaf picked up the point early in the first period, assisting on Cam Fowler’s goal.
Getzlaf has been with the Ducks for his entire career, playing 1186 games with the team over 17 seasons. He becomes the 92nd player to reach the 1000-point milestone.
The game also happened to be the franchise’s 1,000th win.
