The Seattle Kraken are reportedly expected to select forward Alexander True from the San Jose Sharks in tonight's expansion draft, according to Pierre LeBrun.
True is 24 years old and has played a total of 19 NHL games with the Sharks over the last two seasons. He spent the majority of this year with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda, where he managed nine goals and 20 points in 27 games. True is currently a restricted free agent.
It’s somewhat surprising to see True being taken by the Kraken, though he does have ties to Seattle, considering he spent three years with the WHL’s Seattle Thunderbirds. That said, both Ryan Donato and Dylan Gambrell were available and given True’s lack of experience at his age, it’s an interesting choice by the Kraken.
