The San Jose Sharks announced today that they’ve signed forward Jasper Weatherby to a two-year, entry-level contract. The deal carries a $842,500 cap hit, according to CapFriendly.com.

Weatherby is 23 years old and was originally selected by the Sharks in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft. He’s spent the last three years playing in the NCAA with the University of North Dakota and this past season, he scored 14 goals and 24 points in 29 games.

While his stats aren’t anything too impressive, we’ll have to see how Weatherby transitions to professional hockey, where he’ll likely play with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda.
