The Los Angeles Kings' 2020-21 schedule was released this week and the World Juniors began on Christmas Day, where nine Kings prospects are representing their respective countries. Here are the updates for the week:

KINGS' 2020-21 SCHEDULE RELEASED

The Kings released their 56-game schedule for the 2020-21 season this week. They’ll play every game of the season against teams from within their division and will kick off the season against the Minnesota Wild on January 14.

WORLD JUNIORS UPDATE

Nine Kings prospects are currently participating in the World Juniors. Here’s how the stats look for each prospect, before the games on Sunday:

Alex Turcotte (USA): 0G, 3A (2GP)
Tobias Bjornfot (SWE): 0G, 2A (1GP)
Brock Faber (USA): 0G, 2A (2GP)
Arthur Kaliyev (USA): 0G, 2A (2GP)
Quinton Byfield (CAN): 0G, 1A (1GP)
Kasper Simontaival (USA): 0G, 1A (1GP)
Martin Chromiak (SVK): 0G, 0A (1 GP)
Lukas Parik (CZE): - (0GP)
Jordan Spence (CAN): - (0GP)

So far, I’ve been impressed by Bjornfot, Chromiak and Turcotte. Bjornfot looked great at both ends against Czech Republic, while Turcotte has been exciting to watch, playing with Kaliyev and Anaheim’s Trevor Zegras. Chromiak is getting a large role with Slovakia and while he didn’t find the scoresheet against Switzerland, he played with a lot of intensity. On another note, neither Lukas Parik or Jordan Spence played in their team’s first game of the tournament.

As for our poll questions, there was only one question since the last recap, so here are the results for it, along with my thoughts.

QUESTION: Where will the Kings finish within their division for the 2020-21 season?

(Votes: 190)

5th or 6th: 44%
7th or 8th: 39%
4th or better: 16%

The Kings will be a very strong team in a couple of years but I personally see them at the bottom of the division once again next season. For what it’s worth, however, this vote was also done under the assumption that Dallas would be part of the Kings’ decision, not Minnesota.
