Does Ryan Leonard’s Game “as is” Work at the NHL Level? |

Ryan Leonard is truly a Bull-in-the-China-Shop/ Wrecking Ball on ice.
That is just the way the kid plays. In a real short period of time now we’ve gotten to see him play both at Boston College and for the Washington Capitals. And so far, he is playing the same game.
He is one of the more talented bleep disturbers we’ve seen in a long time. He tries to go through people and never misses a chance to take a late stick/elbow swing at every confrontation on every shift.
At Boston College he could do this, because he couldown the ice usually due to his size and speed….
NHL players know so much more than college players do .
So far, in is three games for the Caps, he has shown signs of brilliance and signs of a player who’s going to get hurt way too often if he keeps playing like this… this was Eric Lindros‘s game as well and eventually concussions took over. When you play that style, you live and die by the sword… the key is knowing how to play that style selectively….you get in and get out.
Leonard will need to learn from a player like Brady Tkachuk…
What say you?
