So I am back from Canada, and I have to say again that I truly love going to the country, and over the years I'm growing more and more fond of Toronto. This being the first time I spent around the entire Hall of Fame process I have to add the people connected to the Hockey Hall of Fame are phenomenal. Everything is done at a high-level and the inductees are treated like absolute royalty.

I was also around a lot of general managers and hockey people over the last several days and I can really tell you that the Rumor world is about to get hit hard as we move closer to American Thanksgiving in two weeks. There are a lot of names not even being mentioned yet publicly that could be on the move. I have a ton of work to do....lots of research and follow-up... but lets start here.

On Marc Methot...

The Edmonton Oilers and LA Kings have serious interest in Marc Methot. I would say the Senators are dealing from quite the position of strength right here, and while it is possible that he re-signs in Ottawa, the easier path may be to make a move.

As far as the Kings are concerned I have heard that Slava Voynov will be available upon his return and there is definitely a deal to be made between Ottawa and Los Angeles. The Senators have been talking to the Oilers for quite some time now, but the Oilers reluctance to trade Jordan Eberle remain steadfast. The Flyers have also had discussions about both Voynov and Methot...as well as Keith Yandle. When I asked the general manager what he thought the odds were that these three defensemen we're in the same place come January he said, "slim to none."

On Brodeur...

It's subtle but there is no question in my mind that the Brodeur statements have slightly changed over the past week as Marty begins to make it more clear that he is ok with any role as long as the team makes sense. The Ducks look like the right team for Marty... Especially if Gibson's injury is as bad as it now looks it could be. I still believe Marty wants to be in the East, however team like Anaheim, and their style, is a perfect fit in many ways.

On Byfuglien...

There are many opinions on Dustin Byfuglien out there, but one thing appears certain... he is not long for the Winnipeg Jets, and his current value is about as high as it will get. If the Jets know he's likely not coming back and then look around the league of the need for a Dustin Byfuglien type player... they would be foolish to wait for the draft move him. One team very high on Byfuglien is the Boston Bruins... Boston is joined by Philadelphia, Montréal and New Jersey...but that is one list I expect to expand exponentially soon.

I will be discussing these rumors along with more from the Hall of Fame weekend in today's podcast at a special time 3 PM....
