The Trois-Rivieres Lions hosted the Worcester Railers (New York Islanders) on Friday followed by a trip to face the Adirondack Thunder (New Jersey Devils) 24 hours later.

Friday: Worcester Railers 4 - Trois-Rivieres Lions 3 (overtime)

The Lions opened the scoring in the first period with a goal by Anthony Beauchamp. Their opponents took control by scoring the next three goals up until the mid-point of the third period. Brycen Martin got one back for the home team with a power play goal and Xavier Cormier brought the teams back to square one with the tying tally 2:06 later.

The contest was decided in overtime with the Railers putting an end to it with 31 seconds remaining.

Saturday: Trois-Rivieres Lions 0 - Adirondack Thunder 2

After a scoreless first period, the Thunder got on the board 5:33 into the second frame. Adirondack dominated the middle period, outshooting Trois-Rivieres 24-4. The score remained the same until the final minute of regulation as the Devils ECHL affiliate sealed the victory with an empty net goal.

The Lions are the only team in the North Division without a win, as they hold a 0-2-1 record to begin the season.

Roster News

The Montreal Canadiens assigned Jacob Perreault to the Trois-Rivieres Lions in time for the weekend matches. Perreault has been sidelined with a shoulder injury suffered during a fight in April while wearing a Rocket uniform. The 22-year-old forward obtained one assist with the Lions over the weekend and was serving a minor during a power play goal scored by the Railers on Friday.

The 27th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Entry draft was acquired by the Canadiens in a trade with the Ducks on March 7, 2024.
