Trois-Rivieres scored first for the first time in the weekend when Logan Nijhoff put in a rebound from the slot. Nijhoff doubled the lead in the second period by converting on a chance from the slot again for a power play goal. Reading answered back one-minute later to make it a one-goal game heading into the second intermission. The Canadiens affiliate got into penalty trouble to kick off the third period and allowed their opponents to tie it during a two-man advantage. The Royals took their first lead midway through the final period and held on for the win.
