…and a good Monday mornin’ to ya!
Welcome back to what will become a series of box breaks here at Hockeybuzz, offering up looks at the new and old in the hobby. A chance to crack some packs and have a look at what’s what in the hockey card world.
We’ll jump off today with a peek at a new offering: 2010-11 Score Hockey. Released by Panini, this product draws heavily on the Score brand offering of 1990, while also throwing in a few new goodies along the way!
One addendum I wanted to make is that unbeknownst to myself and others, one of the insert ratios was changed prior to release. Specifically, while it was originally planned for each box to contain a rookie redemption card for one of the “Big 9” rookies what Panini ended up doing was inserting the cards directly into the product at a hit rate of every 1 in 4 boxes. Good move in the sense that it avoids the redemption issue, yet a bad move for those who pre-ordered boxes/cases expecting to hit a short-printed RC each box (and for me who spoke to old information on video…DOH!).
Also, I want to suggest that you all go over and check out the website for the sponsor of this break! Check out
Barrhaven Card Haven (http://cardhaven.weebly.com/ , Phone: (613) 963-0400, Email:
[email protected]) for some great deals and product offered up by Eric Harper and his crew. Eric was kind enough to provide the box for this break, and has a great deal going on this very product, as well as others, right now, so go check out what’s being offered and get in on some of the pre-orders available as well!
On that note, if you’re a card dealer or store owner, whether it be a smaller or full-scale operation, store front or strictly web-based, and would like to gain exposure for your business by way of sponsoring a break then drop me a line via the contact information below! I’d like to keep these breaks going semi-regularly, and if I can give your operation some extra exposure in the process of doing so then all the better for us both!
So without further adieu, on with the show…..
For you autograph hounds, be sure to check in
here for a listing a sessions, both public and private, being held between the 8th and 14th of November. There are some good one’s in there so don’t miss out!
