Long weekend personally, Eagles win the Super Bowl in a thriller with a major halftime show with Kendrick Lamar, SZA, Samuel L Jackson, and Serena Williams. Most of the Jackets even picked the Eagles to dethrone the Chiefs.
With me being away for a bit, today will catch up on previous games before the shutdown.
PG 56 v New York Rangers — Losing Slump Continues
The newly acquired depth of the New York Rangers stepped up in a 4-3 regulation victory against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Period I
Arthur Kayliev opened the scoring for his third with the Rangers from trade bait Ryan Lindgren and Mika Zibanejad
Kent Johnson evened the game at one a piece to fire the cannon. Johnson’s tying goal is his new career high at 17. Werenski extends his home streak at 21 with the primary assist. Adam Fantilli had the secondary assist.
Justin Danforth tipped the Jack Johnson shot for the forward’s fifth of the season. Zach Aston-Reese had the secondary assist.
Period II
Mika Zibanejad brought his team back to even for his 11th of the year; Adam Fox and Chris Kreider had the helpers.
James van Riemsdyk matched his goal production with Boston at 11 goals to give the Jackets their second lead of the night. The final goal of the evening for the home squad was assisted by Damon Severson and Cole Sillinger.
Period III
Urho Vaakanainen had his first goal as a Rsnger from Will Cuylle and Vincent Trocheck.
Will Cuylle had the game winner for his 14th of the season from Trocheck.

Jonathan Quick had 22 saves on 25 shots for a 0.880 save percentage.
Elvis Merzlikins had 36 saves on 40 shots for a 0.900 save percentage.

PG55 v Utah Hockey Club — Home Streak Ends
The Columbus Blue Jackets’ home streak ends at five as they earn only one of two possible points. The final score against the Utah Hockey Club was 3-2 in overtime.

Justin Danforth opened the scoring for his fourth of the season; Jordan Harris had his third assist in a Columbus sweater.
Period II
Lawson Crouse evened the scoring with his eighth of the campaign from Josh Doan and Michael Kesselring.
Olli Maatta got the visitors’ their first lead of the game for his second with Utah. Nick Bjugstad had the lone assist.
Ivan Provorov tied the game short handed with 39 seconds left in the period for his sixth goal of the season. Zach Werenski had the lone assist to extend his home streak to 20 and broke a point scoring record for the Jackets being the first defenseman to have 58 points in a single season.

Overtime
Dylan Guenther banged the winner home with 33 seconds remaining in overtime for the returning winger’s 19th of the season from goalie Connor Ingram.

Connor Ingram had 20 saves on 22 shots for a 0.909 save percentage.

Utah — Dylan Guenther, who is on my fantasy team and is happy to have him back, had the overtime game winner for his 19th of the season.
Columbus — Zach Werenski missed the last game in Buffalo with an injury, and returned with an assist to extend his home point streak to 20 games. Longest in the modern era.
