The Cannon Ball was last night and was a smashing success in central Ohio for the 1970s themed dance party sponsored by the Columbus Blue Jackets foundation.

The Shoe is undergoing its renovations in preparation for the 2025 Navy Federal Credit Union Stadium Series and Honda PreGame festivities. Additional info was shared yesterday in my blog.

The Columbus Blue Jackets return to practice for the first time on Wednesday. Injured players are getting back into line rushes.

Boone Jenner is with Cole Sillinger and Kent Johnson. Kirill Marchenko is skating with Adam Fantilli and Dmitry Voronkov. Zach Aston-Reese is with Justin Danforth and Mathieu Olivier. James van Riemsdyk was paired with Sean Kuraly. Kevin Labanc is out with an upper body injury.

Denton Mateychuk is skating with Ivan Provorov. Jake Christiansen is paired with Damon Severson. Jordan Harris is skating with Dante Fabbro. Jack Johnson is the extra defenseman.

Yegor Chinakov and Kevin Labanc are both out injured still. Zach Werenski is with Team USA. Luca Del Bel Belluz and Mikael Pyyhita are with the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League (AHL).

The Jackets also practice Thursday and Friday before their Saturday return to game action against the Chicago Blackhawks in their second and final meeting of the regular season. The Jackets and Hawks met on December 1st, in a 6-3 regulation win from the United Center. The final meeting between Bedard and Fantilli this season is at 7 p.m. EST from the Nationwide Arena on Fan Duel Sports Network in Ohio and Comcast Sportsnet Plus in Illinois.

Team USA v Team Canada this evening for the championship game. US President Donald Trump is expected to call the American team sometime today to wish them luck.
