Questionable? In the conclusion of the 4 Nations’ round robin tournament games, American winger and Ottawa Senators’ captain Brady Tkachuk leaves the first period of Team United States of America against Team Sweden from the TD Garden in Boston, Masschuetts.
Tkachuk skated a minute and 55 seconds through five shifts and had three shots on goal and hits. Tkachuk crashed in a drive to the net and fell into Swedish goalkeeper Samuel Ersson of the Philadelphia Flyers.
Tkachuk has had 2 goals and a fighting major penalty against Canadian forward and Florida Panthers’ center Sam Bennett.
Tkachuk could be a game time decision for the States with his brother Brady; forwards Auston Matthews and Vincent Trocheck; and defenseman Charlie McAvoy.
Jake Sanderson skated in his debut game for the United States, having two shots on goal; a block; and a giveaway in 13:51TOI.

The belief in league circles is that the Senators have some level of interest in the likes of Chicago Blackhawks winger Ryan Donato and Seattle Kraken winger Brandon Tanev, who are both listed on TSN’s Trade Bait board.
Donato, 28, is a pending unrestricted free agent with a cap hit of $2.0M. The multi-positional forward has 37 points in 53 games in his career best NHL regular season.
Donato would fit in with the prime age of the center core, approximately 26 years old, and be the veteran down the middle.
The journeyman has skated with Boston; Minnesota; San Jose; Seattle; and Chicago in his career; Gregor is the only former teammate on the active roster he skated with elsewhere.
With his low salary, and if Chicago or a third party could retain, the Senators may not have to give up someone on the main roster.
