That's bold as he is the least "developed." I like the optimism.

I agree with the idea that we need one more D man. Mezy getting hurt is not a blessing in any way shape or form. However, if/when he comes back in late season. He could be a great addition (like trading for a fresh D man) that could really help the team at that stage of the season. Yes it will take him time to get back to game speed but he will also be fresh and probably damn hungry to get going.

Coburn/Grossman
Timonen/Schenn
Gervias/UFA
MAB/GUS/Lilja (when he returns)

There will be plenty of injuries this year with Grossman and Timonen being suspect. I would add one more veteran body to the mix and call it a day.

Agreed on the Veteran body, though I would not be surprised if MAB beat out Gervias for the 3rd pairing spot out of camp, leaving Bruno as the 7th man. As I've stated earlier, Lavy likes Bourdon.

Great. Thanks a lot. I was getting worried. I loved the guy when he was in the lineup and remembering that game last year when the lineup was fairly depleted against Boston and he fought lucic and ran over chara a couple times. We really need that again this year.

I have a good feeling about Brandon Manning. Just a hunch.

Indeed. That's what I like about Lava. He's a tough general of a coach, like Hitchcock, except he trusts younger players more than Hitch ever did. Of course, Hitch may have changed his tune now that he's coached in Columbus and now St. Louis.

Coaches have short memories. I think it's truly going to come down to a competition between the 4 players. Of the 3 kids, I like Bourdon the best. Although I haven't seen enough of Manning to really compare him.
