I look at J-bow and that cap hit and I see a team paying a guy to be a top 10 d-man in the league.. I guy who is dominant in all three zones, a annual all-star, and game changer.. He is none of those.


What he is, however, is a very reliable dman who brings good skating and puck moving skills to the back end.

Along the same lines, Bouwmeester is a player that is a good player in all 3 zones. But he doesn't excel in anyone area. He's not dominant offensively, or defensively. Not a huge physical player, or a big shot blocker. Jack of all trades, master of none.
