In a perfect world Leighton plays 15-17 (about 20%) games this season. (Or whatever same % of however many games they play this season) |

Depending which Bryzgalov we're getting this season then anything else. It is believed that the more Bryz plays, the better and more consistent he'll be. If Bryz doesn't meet expectations, Leighton gets more games then expected. In my opinion Dave Tibbit's system had a lot to do with Bryz's success. With this said, Bryz has one season with the flyers under his belt and now has a better idea of what to expect. I believe in Bryz. There was a number of games where Bryz strung together a number of shutouts in a row, so there is no reason why Bryz can't be better this season and Leighton sees a lot of the bench. |

Bryz was actually good in anaheim as well....i cant put blame on the goalies last year, espescially because team D was the culprit. When they committed to team D as (most successful teams do) he was unbeatable. |

Hey Philly, how do you feel about Bryz' play in Anaheim? |

In my opinion, systems don't make players. Players makes systems work. Regardless of what system a team plays, a Goalie still has to make the saves. |

I don't think it's fair to just say it was team defense that caused Bryzgalov's struggles. It's a two way road, a goaltender performing reliably emboldens the team defense, and vice versa. Similarly, when one part of this tandem is struggling, the other's job becomes more difficult. The team defense wasn't great through a lot of last year, but Bryzgalov deserves a fair portion of the blame for some untimely brain cramps.
I still think Bryz got more heat than he deserved at times, but at his pay grade he needs to be a catalyst in the symbiosis that keeps pucks out of our net. |

Imho, IB needs a lot of work to be at his best. In a full season I think he needs 68-70 games. Depending on how short this season is he should probably get 95% of the starts. |

As long as the defense isn't leaving wide open back door shots and triple deflecting shots on net he should be fine.

I think the additions of Grossman & Kubina as well as a commitment to D solidified Bryz's game. While we have lost our puckmovers our stay at home D are all due to start (Coburn, Grossman, Schenn) I think this year might be the year we get last year's predictions of a Defense first team coming true. |
