Im not, but Ive had a couple of these clauses for jobs Ive had... they havent hindered me, but I know they can get much more restrictive for bigger positions then I've had.

Those clauses usually exist for positions that help with the development of proprietary assets....or positions that generate a lot of revenue through customer interaction (like a portfolio manager)

I am not. But I've signed a few of these. They are designed to protect the company from losing clients/customers or their proprietary knowledge. The clauses I've seen stipulate that you cannot use your knowledge of the customers ect after leaving.
