Bill,
How is Bryz holding up mentally? With what he did after getting the bench for the Winter Classic, I wonder if he goes into a funk when scratched. |

I was just going to ask the same question. Not that I really care at this point with all this (frank)ing bullpoop, but I guess I am curious.

Sad to see our guys playing and being at work during the day and not being able to watch them.... |

Bryz seems to thrive on getting a lot of work, playing a bunch of games in a row.
Now he is stuck behind another goalie and only getting spot duty.
This can't be ideal for him. I wonder if he's considering changing teams to go where he will be the number one goalie.
Read seems to be thriving. Nice to hear about him and the good news on Voracek. |

Hey Bill,
Do you know if Briere took his boys with him to Berlin?
If he did that must be a pretty cool experience for them. |

He was asked about that at his introductory press conference with Eisbären. His sons wanted to come, but he thought it was better if they stayed home, didn't miss any school and continue with their hockey. If he's still in Berlin as the holidays approach, his sons will come or he will take a trip back.

What is Michael Leighton doing during the lockout?? - Flyers_1488
No idea, sorry. There had been a rumor several weeks ago of him signing with a team in the EBEL (Austria), but nothing came of it.

I am at a loss for words in describing Liberec this season. As a jets fan I am terrified that Pav is getting blown out in Europe right now, hopefully Simmons and Stuart will stop the bleeding. |

What a disaster this Bryzgalov experiment has become! Now he can't even get into a game in Russia for cripes sake! His numbers stink, much like last season. How do the Flyers get out of this one? They probably don't. Only option would be a trade and I can't see anyone willing to take him at this point. Only hope is that he discovers he misses his homeland so much he doesn't want to leave. We can only wish! |

Ray Emery on a one-year deal was an experiment. Bryzgalov on a nine-year contract is a looooooooong term commitment.
As for the playing time, it's as much about CSKA already having one of best goalies in Europe (Rastislav Stana) and having not need Bryzgalov in the first place as it is about Bryzgalov's spotty play in his four starts; only two of which came in back-to-back games.

Team is a mess. It's pretty much been Petr Nedved or bust this season.

The other option is to put Bryzgalov in the net when the Season starts. |

Bingo.. and hello sir, long time yadda yadda.
Here is my take. If Stana is SOOOOO GOOOD why isnt he nailing down a #1 job in the NHL. The NHL and KHL are two totally different types of hockey. Bryz playing in KHL (barely) is better than nothing. He is practicing and what not as well. Any time on the ice (to me) is a good thing. I want him to be ready to hop in full time.. playing 7-8 out of every 10 games. His stat line in the K doesnt worry me in the least. |

Bill - it seems we have the only "weird" goalie in nhl history.
There have never been any outstanding goalies that I can remember that share Bryz's odd personality.
How is it possible to win with this guy? |

Don't hockey goalies always have a couple screws loose? As I understand it, at least, it's a stereotype they tend to be proud of |
