Jan, hockey seems so trivial with whats gone on in the tri-state area recently. I just got my power back yesterday and i know a few people on the south shore of Long Island who lost everything.

My heart goes out to you and your family, Lets hope they get a deal done too.

Sorry about all your losses with the flood. Nashville suffered the same fate a few years ago, so our thoughts are with you guys up north.

"(PS, in terms of my house. 4.5 feet of water was in basement. Most of card and memorabilia collection was destroyed, even the ones on shelving, including hockey cards, Topps, OPC, Upper Deck etc. from the mid-80s to now. First floor had 4-6 inches of water and restoration company has recommended us ripping out the whole floor, including furniture etc. Still no power and staying at friends)

Dude, that's awful, my gut is churning just thinking about that happening to my abode.

Hopefully it was only a one-off thing we won't see again in our lifetime in the northeast.

Sorry for your losses Jan, it is tough to take.

That said, your family is still here and will be saying "goodnight" to you at day's end.

And....I'm sure you thank God for that.....

Thanks for all the kind thoughts and wishes. Many had it much worse than me and I am fully cognizant of that. Now let's get hockey back and ease some of all of our pain.

Jan, you're a champ! Our HB champ sir! Commendable that you're giving us Hockey updates given your state. Hope it all works out sooner, rather than later! Glad to hear you're family is safe though! Hope tonight's storm doesn't affect you much!

God speed Jan. I still have no power in Ronkonkoma, day 11, LiPA said Wedsnday, but w the snow storm now its tomorrow, hopefully. But no damage from Sandy otherwise & my brother in law never lost power & has basically taken in the 4 of us now. Can't complain too much, I know a TON of people in Lindenhurst on the South Shore of LI who lost EVERYtHIng. So devestated.

Yea man its bad at the NJ shore too... we got almost a foot of snow on top of all the Sandy BS. at the actualy beach itself i am nto sure how it has affected those crews. But as I was driving home last night and NJ didnt prepare for this much snow at all, couldnt even see the highway, and transformers went off like fireworks... Idk what we did to piss of mother nature.

Stick a fork in the season it's done. As if we don't have enough misery around the area.

Good luck, Jan, I hope everything gets better for you soon. The good thing is that you and your family are healthy and safe.

I work for PSE&G here in NJ, and I've been sent out on storm duty, traveling with some of the crews from out of state, so I've seen some of the widespread damage this storm has done. It's unbelievable to see how much work has to be done just to restore power to people. Good luck to anyone else suffering from the storm, I wish you the best.

Sorry Jan for the damage you and your family have to deal with. What an awful storm. Just hoping everyone here is safe and has somewhere warm to stay.

If this info coming out tonight that the league thinks Donald Fehr is misleading the players and leaving out info in order to stick it to the league and prolong the lockout is true, then wow. Not only do we have to worry about no season, but this could get downright ugly.

Theyre going to do so much damage to this league if they lost the entire season.

Apparently, the meeting last night ended with a shouting match between players and the four owners in attendance. WOW! Talk about hard feelings.

Regarding Don Fehr. This guy is to smart to release a memo to the players that he knows will most likely be leaked and have misleading information. I will say, if the players want to play this season, and I believe to a man they do, they have to tell Fehr there needs to be a end game. I think we'll know that very soon.

Hope all of the folks, in the tri-state area, affected by the storm are doing infinitely better.

To Jan and whomever else on here that incurred serious damage and loss, due to Sandy, I hope things get better and in a hurry.

As far as the season is concerned, I am as pessimistic as ever about saving it.

Every day that goes by it just gets more apparent nothing is going to get done.
