Really? based off of his press conference, you don't think so? The guy was actually shaking.. Not to mention, that his tone was very emotional. I got the impression that Bettman and the owners want the game back more than the players do.

Well, it's easy for some of us. For you and uggie, not so much, apparently.
- Feeling Glucky?

Last year Bettman was a Richard..... still is.

All we've heard was how terrible off the league is for the last year, but he got a raise and an extension. WHY? If the league is is in charge of is so bad off, and in such rough shape why is he still here??

More like the league knows he is a brick wall. Fehr right now is a major roadblock, more so than Goodenow was 8 years ago.

Bettman is not even listening to the players propositions.

Why was the last PA proposal so unacceptable from the league standpoint?? It was the league proposal, but 2 hours later it's not acceptable for them?? And people think that bettman and the league was sincere in their concern for getting the games started?

They gave him his own proposal back and it was deemed unacceptable.

Na, they're scared of him...... they threaten to walk every time he tries to get involved. They've continually refused to negotiate with him.

They are afraid of him, plain and simple.

Players - we agree on the 300 milly now lets negotiate the final "3 issues"

Owners - the 300 milly is conditional on your accepting our proposal on those "3 issues"

Mexican standoff on these last couple of issues. I don't think they can classify the gap as huge anymore. They're close ....both sides are betting on the other breaking down in the next 2-3 days and acquiescing on those final issues.

Actually it was the moderate owners who finally pulled the plug.

Not the hard line guys.

And Vinnik and Burkle.. The guys that actually wanted a deal to get done, pulled the plug.. Like Tanenbaum said, the PA doesn't want to negotiate.

Fehr is a season ender. His objective is to get the best deal not save NHL games.

I have not moved off my stance that the season is toast since the beginning. Unless Fehr steps away.

The part that makes my blood boil are tweets like this

Scottie Upshall ‏@ScottieUpshall
Plain and simple these owners think they can break us apart. GOOD LUCK! We r stronger than we've ever been and r behind Fehr %100.

You d-bags are fighting over our (the fans) money, you look like jackasses in the process. The fans should hold out for 1 season, dont buy a single nhl/pa item or attend 1 nhl game. They think the billions will always be there.

I'm no Bettman backer, far from it. But once Fehr came out and publically lied to everyone about being close, my opinion of him went into the toilet.

I thought the 300 mil make whole was now completely off the table. Period. The owners only wanted that for an 82 game season but now they want it completely gone.

pure selfishness.

The PA would be wise to put the NHL's last offer to a secret vote.

Fehr is a cancer

say what you want about Bettman but at least he's trying

his idea to step away

his camp is the one making proposals

he is the one who answers to sponsors

bettman is a lil weasel, but he isnt the reason there is no hockey right now.. fehr is.

If the deal is good enough, why is the league not agreeing??? (Let alone not even at the table?? )

The league refused it's own offer. That isn't trying to get a deal done.
