I'm flabbergasted that people are blaming one side, the NHL is acting like a dictatorship, in union negotiations you don't give a yes or no and like children pull everything off the table then and expect a union not to make a counter proposal, how insulting is sending a voice mail refusing it, that is plain arrogance. Can you believe anything Bettman says?
As for Fehr, he is squeezing and squeezing, not standing down, his best interest is not the game, the players behind him yesterday thought they were close, there was no lie. The problem is, the group behind him was players making a lot of coin and really didn't speak for the lesser lites in the league.
The whole situation is toxic, not wanting a union leader in the room is absolutely asinine, the players pay him to represent them and it is their right, for the NHL to say it is a deal breaker is childish.
What I saw yesterday was two gown men acting like children, the best interest of the game has been lost on them and now has become personal, it is egos that is the problem, the sooner all involved are removed the better we will get back the great game it once was.
Both side have the fans blood on their hands. - LeafMan
I really dont care anymore LM
the players in comparison to most people will make out like bandits with the worst possible offer
but they want more.. me me me
sure its their right.. but its also my right to say they are spoiled and are completely out of touch with reality.
Players: "your offer isnt good enough even tho it pays me millions to play a game and comes with full benefits for not only myself, but my family."
(frank)ing absurd. those bastards should consider themselves lucky to play hockey for a living even if they only made 50G a year.
they dont know how good they got it

Burn has been 100% pro player from the get go an will spin it any way he can to confirm that bias. - robin_steele264
yeah i know
the owners pulled their own offer
true.. but only after the union tried changing it
spinning of words.. nothing more. |

|
|
Not what I saw yesterday on social media, the NHL took the brunt of the fans ire. - LeafMan
I disagree.
From everything I've seen most fans are sick of the PA.

Yeah. Exactly.
It's as if the owners made the offer, players accepted, and the owners said no.
Damned moderate owners!

Honestly it doesn't seem to make a lick of a difference who's side is more or less popular.
Neither really cares.

they tend to leave out the part where they tried changing it.

Take a look at the hash tags and not who you follow.
The fans want the the people in charge removed as much as they want hockey back. Even watching the news last night, not TSN or Sportsnet, but CTV said they are not allowed to read what people are saying about Bettman and the NHL, again it is toxic. I want Bettman, Daly, and both Fehr's to go away and never come anywhere near hockey again.
Take a look what was trending last night, it was #firebettman |

I'm spinning nothing. I've been critical of both sides, pro league cannot say that though. Even when they are criticizing the pa for doing the same thing.
Bias only on one side, and its not this side. |

Impression I got is that fans are upset that the owners took their offer from the table. But why keep it available, if it was rejected? - PatC80

Does Fehr know how many people are out of work because of this process. For him to say, again, hold out is so wrong on so many levels..
Poor leadership for this prpocess.. |

here's the thing
i expect the owners to be the bad guys.. they are rich billionaires.. they didnt become that way being nice
the players owe their talent to their damn gene pool. they are lucky to be able to play a game for a living.. even the worst possible offer from the owners is still a very good living. (frank) em. they are spoiled brats.
at least the owners havent tried playing the poor me card.. thats the kind of thing i find nauseating |

Poor leadership on both sides, picking and choosing one side when both are acting like fools doesn't make sense. |

Never seen him that agitated before. He's normally pretty cool and collected.
Seems many of the owners felt the same.

the owners propose something and the union asks for more.. the owners propse something else and the players ask for more so the owners propose another offer and the players ask for more
why the (frank) would the owners continue to propse offers? the union is just going to ask for more by default
the only way to beat fehr and his BS tactics is to wait for him to either dissolve the union or make a reasonable offer. he will alwys ask for more from any offer thats proposed to him |

To me, I can only take the side of the owners ,Sorry if that makes no ense to you, but I can't see the players side at all. It is the tail wagging the dog. That does not work. Franks the dog up big time. |

Funny how you seem to forget that it's the league that walked away from this. How do they get no blame? |
