The fact the owners told the NHLPA that they won't negotiate with Fehr, and all offers from last week are off the table...shows me the NHL and Bettman are the real Richards in this process. - Scooby_Doo
Bettman and the owners are acting like little kids. Because they can't have their own way....."We don't want to deal with Fehr". Looks like the owners have met their match and aren't happy about it. Fuking spoiled babies.
Hello, I am a hockey fan who does not realize that the NHL is a business. I believe that the players should make as much money as possible, even if this proves to be unprofitable for most owners. I will continue to blame Bettman, because I do not understand that he actually works for the owners. Bettman is an evil evil man, and everything is his fault. I also respect Fehr's relentless attempts to get this settled. His aggressiveness in these negotiations demonstrates that he truly cares for the game of hockey.

What does the game of hockey have to do with any of this?

This!^^^ and if Fehr decides to throw away the rest of the season trying to hold out for an measly additional $80 million, then the players deserve to lose an entire seasons salary over such stupidity! - MnGump
He should just tell the players to take whatever the owners decide to give them and quit. If they decide they need another another salary rollback and contracts set the way they want why should a bunch of spoiled players stand in their way. The fate of the Pheonix Coyotes depends on getting five year contract limits!
Bettman cares about the game? I'm no fan of Fehr but Bettman cares about getting a good deal for his employers he doesn't care about the NHL. Glowing pucks, teams in Atl., Miami, Columbus, teams in markets that can't get support off ice, a team named after a disney movie. That is caring about the game? Not to mention 3 lockouts, not strikes but owner imposed lockouts to protect themselves from themselves. What about the gimmicky shootouts that were "for the fans" after 2005. I'm sorry but niether side gets more blame than the others unless you factor in teams in poor markets that can't support nhl teams which cause lockouts every so often so they can compete, then you have to blame poor business practices from the owners, who are greedy too.
The players shouldn't accept a deal because fans want the game back, we don't matter, just ask Gary Bettman, who cares about the game according to this site.

You should vote on Ek's poll. If more reasonable people like you made their voices heard, this lockout would be over. Your courage has been noted.

In your opinion, who does Donald Fehr hold a stronger responsibility to? The game of Hockey, or the NHLPA?
Bettman works for the Owners. Who does Fehr work for?

100% Agree!
Fehr has done a magnificent job. When this is all said and done, the players will come out in a much better position financially. Anyone can see that losing a years salary will not have a negative impact on players. Roenick will be the first to agree. Fehr is the best thing to ever happen to the PA.
