The problem with using the amnesty on Bryz is that Michael Leighton becomes our starter until a new goalie is found. Unless there's an immediate replacement lined up, I don't buyout the cosmonaut. Other considerations are Pronger (if an injured player can be amnestied) or Briere (based solely on his salary).
As for the Habs, I think buying out Gomez is a no brainer. That's a big chunk of cap space to recover. I'd think Redden is another easy decision. - BulliesPhan87

that was never going to happen - Rayven
Yes common sense would say not a chance but the NHL is run by idiots. They only care about the bottom line. They would have squeezed the entire 82 gane season into back to back games & when the players get hurt which would have happened, the NHL wouldn't care. The NHL is that insane. For the sake of the players, thank goodness it never happened. |

Assuming we have a season,
With it being reported that Grigorenko will stay in juniors...
Is Leino our 3rd line center this season?
Is it possible they give Hecht one more year?
Any ideas? - jdfitz77
I was sp pissed off that Brian Burke didn't draft Grigorenko on draft day but I guess I can't complain, Morgan Reilly looks amazing. |

disagree, players are idiots for contributing to killing a sport that is the only thing they are good at. Owners make their money elsewhere |

I don't see what the problem is. AHL teams do games three nights in a row. So do most other "lesser" leagues. But NHL players can't handle 2 nights in a row too many times? |

I know it's annoying that GARTH posts about Grigorenko every other day,
But I still can't believe he fell to us in the draft
We got really lucky
I'm surprised so many teams passed on him
It really worked out nicely for us though bc we have a lot of good young defensive talent that's just about ready for the NHL
I look for grigorenko to make the squad next year for sure
How's Toronto's cap situation for next year with it most likely dropping to 60mil? |

Toronto will have 18M in cap space (if they don't resign anyone before) with 12 players signed. |

That really doesn't seem like much room when u gotta add another 10guys or so
Sabres will be tight up against it,
But if we buy out Leino we should be in ok shape
Luckily we have a lot of young guys that should be ready to contribute |

It will be higher than that once they use their buyout. Leafs will have about 22 million to get about 10 players. Very good position compared to most teams. |

Ek i'd just love to thank you for putting up amazing ads that dont repeat AT ALL such as the "Jesus Christ is god" and "lose belly fat here" ads. They make my day everyday, and every time i look at the site i enjoy them so much! I have learned that Jesus Christ is Lord even though im not Catholic, and that Belly fat isn't that bad!
Thanks Ek! |

Eklund, I've given you some poop, but I'd like to think it was constructive. Congrats on the first reporting, but why couldn't you discuss that final point until it was reported by the rest of the media after you flipped the switch on the rest of it? |

This.
Anyone who actually thinks Fehr is not the reason we are in this mess is high on crack.
BTW- We still have not heard the NHLPA's response to the NHL's offer.
He (Fehr) has pleanty of time to f***this up... |

They are preparing a counter proposal, they plan to have a call with the league on Saturday to discuss certain clauses in the league's proposal and meet face to face on Sunday to present their counter proposal (when things usually get ugly) and hopefully negotiate. |

So much for the hill we die on...counter by PA, counter by NHL and then we're playing hockey. The NHLPA will be the ones to accept a deal so the owners look like the heroes. Bottom line is the NHL gave in after wasting our (the fans)time for the last two weeks by lying to us, yet again, about their offer being their final and best that they have to give. End game means all of these pro-owner chumps continue to blame the players when both parties are equally responsible with the NHL spewing more lies and getting away with it.
Seems like Fehr was right that the NHLPA could get more in the offer. |

Got it off twitter,
For some reason it wouldn't let me copy n paste the link
At any rate, seems like we are getting closer to a deal
The only thing missing IMO is the owners agreeing to a new revenue sharing system
I read an article where the NHL only shares about 5% of revenues,
And other pro sports leagues share around 50% - jdfitz77
Other sports leagues have way better tv revenues which allow them to share more. |

I just read a couple of Canucks fans going on about how the Bruins suck and have a bleak future ahead. I had to leave, one guy was just going postal and the other seemed to know better but didnt know how to man up to it.
God bless the internet. |

Good, I'd like to see Columbus beat up on the Leafs for half a year. |
