I dont think you come here often enough then. Its not scott-free but they arent being held accountable, like Fehr is. It is not an even balance as it should be. - systemtool
That's because blame shouldn't be balanced out equally.
Sure both parties are at fault...but they're not at fault equally. |

People blame Fehr because the PA has yet to make a valid proposal and we are well over 100 days into the lockout.. Everything is being done by the owners to try and save the season. Fehr is a bigtime douche - PatC80
No one knows where the NHLPA stands on many issues, as they haven`t made a full proposal. They just take the good bits they like from NHL offers. Thats the problem, they onl;y reject and critisize, never initiate.
Negotiate by not negotiating. |

Highly doubt that.
If we're taking on that Luongo contract, Van will be taking back dollars as well. Komi will probably be apart of the package...and you will not get any of Percy/Franson/Finn. - Pen15
Like Komi and a 3rd? No offense but you sound like Scooby. That is the tor equivalent of Gardiner and a 1st. Will komi be on top of one of those offers? Maybe but doubtful. Is Luongos contract bad? Yep sure is. But he is still an elite player. Komi is a horrible player with a horrible cntract |

How are they not both to blame equally?
If this was Bettman and Fehrs first time at their respective jobs you would be right. The fact the NHL has done this before twice, and has sacrificed a full season, should be proof enough that they are just as much to blame as anyone. |

I have yet to see one poster completely remove all blame from the NHL for getting into this mess...
The separate question however, is who has dragged this out longer than it needs to be? And that, is soley on Fehr and the PA. - Pen15
I have yet to make the claim that one poster completely removed all blame from the NHL for getting into this mess.
If I hadnt witnessed this twice before, with a different head of the PA, then I would be all for blaming Fehr. |

@DarrenDreger: Hard to imagine the NHL's latest proposal doesn't result in potentially season-saving meetings. Players wanted flexibility and they got it.
Can't wait to see Fehr go around saying they can get more. |

Again - no one ever suggested they're not both to blame. I think you'll be hard pressed to find a poster on here that removes ALL blame from the NHL.
That said, if it's a question of who's to blame more for the situation we're in (as childish as that may seem), there should be more blame allocated to the PA than the NHL. |

Are you really that blind? Every NHL proposal has been a take it or leave it. The pa can't build off it. Maybe if the league had an offer in Sept/Oct that even resembled the one they have now we would be half way through the season. Yet the offer way the very best they could do and would ony get worse. - Bieksa#3
How am I really "that blind"? Show me something that proves me wrong? The PA hasn't done anything to try to save the season.

That said, they arent getting enough of it. Its not about more or less. The blame is equal. Please get the point this time. |

Why? Because the owners own the league and can basically do whatever they want. The players are not their business partners which is how they act, they are simply employees. Most owners are losing money, all players make money. The players need to make a little less to make the the league as a whole viable. |

That's an irrational behaviour though. CBA negotiations are very distinct from one another...so assigning blame based on a previous experience is a major fallacy. I think you have to treat each negotiation separately and judge it based on the actions of both sides.
And if we do that with this negotiation, it is clear the owners have moved a lot more to resolution than the PA has. |

i dont even remember whats being argued honestly...
for me, at the end of the day, both sides are a bunch of wieners and id boo anyone and everyone that is associated with this negotiation....and we all know how effective booing is!!! #FansHaveNoVoice. |

Dont be daft. Bettman and his NHL owners have proven they have never wanted a lock out or a season lost. Its never happened in their history until Fehr came along. Clearly he is more to blame. |
