I heard if Russia pulls out a comeback, Al Michaels will be flying to the NHL Network studios to call the game in Mears' stead. |

According to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger, the second year salary cap is still a pressing topic as the players are looking for $65 million, while the NHL remains committed to a $60 million cap.
This is laughably absurd at this point. A "pressing topic" is a matter of $5 million for next year's salary cap? Pick a number in between and move on! Are they going to fight over what shade of blue the blue lines should be next? |

Arthur Staple @StapeNewsday
To #Isles fans: Team doesn't see Rick D. as a distraction, so my feeling is he'll stay. That's a big check to write before the BK move.
Chris Botta @ChrisBottaNHL
@StapeNewsday Oh, I hear you, Arthur. Wasn't directed at your tweets, which were excellent. And I agree: Rick's not being bought out.
 - Vukota
Just Staple's opinion, and Botta's been wrong more times than I can remember when he's made definitive statements about the Isles over Twitter. DP was a distraction for the German team he was (is?) on and he's only been there for a couple of months. Snow would have to be blind to think otherwise considering the goaltender carousel that's gone on here since 2008, despite what he says to a newspaper reporter. I'll give ownership/management the benefit of the doubt here on what should be a very non-controversial, slam-dunk decision. But, if they don't do the obvious thing and buy out that contract when given a golden opportunity to do so, then that's gotta be the nail in the coffin for the Wang/Snow defense, no? |

Yeah, don't hold your breath on him actually being able to play. He's probably injured as we speak. Man, hes got it good. What a life. |
