Any chance Foster beats out Gervais for the 6th spot? I'm assuming it's Gervais' to lose, and it's tough to lose a spot in 6 days of practice. - The_Universe
looks to me like the flyers are going to have 4 tired D men for the playoffs |

There's a good chance both Foster and Gervais will be in the lineup Saturday. |

I think he's more likely to rotate with Lilja until Meszaros is ready to go. From what I heard yesterday, Mesz wasn't moving too well.
Of the three(Gervais, Lilja & Foster) Gervais is the most mobile. |

As soon as I saw the 'server maintenance' screen yesterday, I knew the site would get fouled up.
It seems to have spread to posters, as well. - tangent_man

Like the players coming back from Europe, HockeyBuzz is in midseason form.

Kubina was injured unfortunately. Or he would have been a nice addition for the rest of last Season. - MJL
I understand that. And because of the injury, he was slow when with the Flyers.
Anyway, I don't care who the 5/6 defensemen are, just want to see Flyers hockey. |

I'd rather be discussing who Weber is going to be paired with. Sadly not the case. Ah well. I'm just hoping we stay healthy. |

So probably looking at:
Coby - Grossmann
Timonen - Schenn
Foster - Gervais
Hope Bryz is ready. I'm interested to see what the lines look like Saturday.
Hartnell - G - Voracek
Talbot - Schenn - Simmonds
Wellwood - Coots - Read
Rinaldo - Laughton - Rusty
That's probably what I'd like to see. |

I saw a weird little piece on NHL Network yesterday morning. It was longer than a commercial, but couldn't have been more than 2-3 minutes. It was a little piece comparing Giroux to Doug Gilmour. Anyone know anything about it? |

At the recommendation of former Devils assistant Adam Oates, who is now the head coach of the Washington Capitals, Foster spent a good portion of his summer with physiotherapist Kevin Haller in Bellevue, Wash., across the lake from Seattle.
"I worked on a lot of things out there," Foster said. "He broke down every bit of my movement, both on the ice and in my day-to-day life. I never realized how much I was subconsciously compensating on my root leg for my left leg's injuries.
"He reworked my movement so that I don't cheat. Everything is balanced. He's taken my mobility to a new level. Now, I feel it's as good or better than it was before the injury."
I was not aware of his training and work with the physiotherapist. If Foster's mobility is indeed as good as it's ever been, I have a lot fewer qualms about adding him to the mix |

I expect so. I\'m definitely nervous about Kurtis Foster after Bill described him as being \"Derian Hatcher with two bad knees slow\". - NickTheKid87
Didn't he say he was slower than that? |

Why is that??
I hope your right - Flyers_1488
Shelley's salary is $1.1 million. You can only bury $900,000 in the minors. If they send him down, that leaves them with a proated $200,000 of dead cap space. They already have prorated $50,000 of dead space for Boucher, and $100,000 from the Bartulis buyout. Just seems like they'd probably keep him as a spare forward, rather than have $350,000 of dead space on the cap. Who knows though, maybe they send him down. |

i feel that due to the shortened season, it would be a risk to with laughton and give him the 5 games. God forbid the kid makes a costly mistake here or there...esp. now with every game being so significant, not only would it serve detrimental to the team but to his confidence and development...He goes back to Oshawa and comes in to camp '13-'14...

The first thing that jumped out at me about that article is I wondered if that was "Former Flyer Kevin Haller".

If this is the case then he might even be a worthwhile signing. Let's hope this isn't too much optimism from Foster.

I agree with sending Laughton down. Just not putting it past the Flyers keeping him. I'd much rather see what McGinn can do in a limited role. Just no Shelley please. |

They will get LTIR relief from Pronger and likely Matt Walker. Also, with abonus cushion in place, the cap hits for guys on ELCs would be lower than last season |

I'd be in favor of giving him a shot as long as Briere's out. Since we're down a center right now, if he looks like he can handle it, then I say give it to him. |
