What a disappointment he has been but I'd love to give him a chance. Wishart is in a similar boat but I wouldn't be as keen on a waiver claim with him.

Yup. He's little, but a good skater. Doesn't project as much more than a 3rd pair guy, but he'd be interesting as a waiver grab, IMO.

He had 3 nice years in the WHL, but he's had nothing but injury issues. Projects as a top-line AHL defenseman, maybe a call-up. Then again, he's only 23, so if he can stay healthy, always a chance he could develop further.

Hickey had decent stats for Manchester in the A last year. +/- was solid.

Yes he has, and I hope that continues. But at 23, he's already had ankle and shoulder surgery. I'm not saying they need to stay away, and I think he's be a definite improvement over some of their defensemen. But that's probably played some part of why he's never made it to the show.

Almost certainly true. I wouldn't grab him expecting a top four guy who could eat minutes, and the injuries do provide a pause.

Waiting for my kid to be born right now.... Can't believe I'm going to be watching the season opener with my kid!
