Gee, GET RID OF DIPIETRO! - ISLES1119
it's not his fault the Isles are losing - the Isles have a serious shortage in the offense department. Scoring 7 against Toronto is easy. When they play good teams like Boston theyre put in their place. They need consistent secondary scoring which they don't have.
The Isles should have signed Gomez and Redden. |

This is why Boston owns us. Thry are too physically dominating for our dmen. We cant win the battles in front of the crease. - keaner17
absolutely. They beat the shat out of us physically every time. Wear us down. The Isles looked better than they normally do against them I have to say and how about Acoin? Second goal was great, no hesitation. Looks good. Loss sucks but there were some bright spots. |

Um no, Ricky Dipietro has to save a wrister with his glove from the top of the circles. Hes just not an NHL goalie. When i saw the over/under was 5.5........it was EASY money

so the Isles being absolutely bullied and physically abused had nothing to do with it? How about Thornton and Campbell scoring goals?? Really!!! It's not like Boston's first line beat us, it was the grunts. All of our shots came on the rush, couldn't get anything established in Boston's end, horrible PP. Like come on. Everyone loves to hate on DP but if Nabby was in, same result. |

Their other lines haven't looked bad a few games in. In fact they look way better than I expected, putting some points up. |

Agreed. We wore down eventually. You havr to like the heart they showed while defending the empty net. |

yeah they look good against crappy defenses but when you play teams like Boston, NY, Pittsburgh that scoring doesn't come through. |

I agree. You could see that Dipietro's legs isn't the same as before. He really couldn't move his legs. YOu would think he is just practicing. If it wasn't for the Isles players who performed hard for him, he would have given ten goals up. |

He honestly played better than I expected I have to admit. I was slightly impressed because I was expecting something embarrasingly bad. He wasn't awesome but I could almost stomach him. The Bruins ALWAYS beat the poop out of us physically, hate watching them play these guys but I actually liked watching about forty minutes of this game. Better than I expected. |

Chara's wrist shot is harder than most players' slap shot. DP couldn't find the puck through the screen. |

Oh come on. I'm not going to say he was great or even good but I cant say a single one of the goals tonight were soley on him. I dont expect him to ever be a number one but he did what I expect from a back up. Made the simple saves without undermining the effort. |

Completely physically over matched. No other team beats them harder than the Bruins. They just pummel us. It's like every game against us they treat like a playoff game. They're a great team. |

I didn't think he was awful either. Not good but not terrible. I just can't stand when the guy handles/mishandles the puck. |

It was painful watching Streit not being able to clear the front of the net. I cannot wait for guys like Reinhart and Mayfield on D and guys like Nelson and Nino up front. |

The guy can't get up once he goes down. I give him credit for being in pretty good position and controlling rebounds for the most part. It made him look competent for most of the night. But whenever he went down...he was still on the ice by the time the puck was worked back to the point.
Hung with them for two periods at least and looked OK. But a loss is a loss. |

Could not agree more on both accounts.....
Team looked good in spots, but let's face it the Bruins are better, and #39 is not stealing anything but a $4.5 million paycheck these days - forget about a hockey game. Here's to sneaking one out in the best atmosphere in the NHL in Winnipeg. |

Not making any excuses, but the isles lost a game in which they were physically outmatched, played the night before, and started their back up who hasen't played/ been healthy in the passed few years, and still put up a decent game. Im not losing sleep over the loss. The test will be how they answer this loss over the next 3 games during this road trip...if they can pull in 6 outa ten points i'd be content with it. Got 2 already... |
