Yeah, good point. Does that mean Lindros won't have his retired if he doesn't make the hall? I think he had such a good run as a dominant force they they will regardless.
I tried to post a picture but I guess Im not doing it right. Does anyone know if you can post a picture from a camera? Or does it have to have a web address. - DrMidnite
Lindros WILL get into the HOF. He's had 865 points in 760 games (372 goals, 493 assists, 1.14 points per game) and Pavel Bure had 779 points in 702 games (437 goals, 342 assists, 1.11 points per game). Like you said, he was dominant. It's only a matter of time. |

what is with our Philly teams, they are all going backwards - vejim
the Phil's are a season away from a rebuild, the eagles are in a rebuild, the sixers are irrelevant, but the flyers are our best hope. if they show patience and make the right moves, they'll be a serious cup contender. right now they're a solid plyoff team and once we're in, who knows? |

I don't want to turn this into BaseballBuzz but I think the Phils are at a point where they will not rebuild a la the Yanks, Sox, Dodgers, etc. They can buy players now. |

Happy about Timonen. Anyone think he has a shot at his jersey being retired eventually? He has been at least our top 2 dmen for what is his 6th season now.
I am going to break out my most treasured Flyers shirt for the game tonight. My parents bought it for me a Showcase Sporting Goods close to 20 years ago. - DrMidnite

Honored, yes, without a doubt. Retired, absolutely not. Kimmo's place in flyers history is on par with Eric Dejardins |

I'm on a speculation roll today...
Potential buyout candidates this summer:
Ana - Souray.
Buff - Leino.
Edm - Horcoff.
Mtl - Kaberle.
NYI - DiPietro.
Tor - Komisarek.
Van - Ballard, Booth, Luongo.
I don't see anyone on the teams not listed that would be potential buyouts, but what do I know. Would we have any interest in filling potential holes in our lineup with any of these guys?

I get your reservation but kimmos ability to endure and stay in the line up is what elevates him, for me. Desjardin ran the point more efficiently and had more goal scoring ability.
Defensively, both relied on positional soundness, with Desjardin getting a ++ for his stickwork and pokecheck prowess. |

Aren't you making an assumption that he can't come back and play strong after his injury? - Jsaquella
When did I say that it was out of the realm of possibility that Meszaros cannot come back and be effective? I am trying to be objective by pointing out that his play could go either way. I look at Meszaros as a player who was out along time from the middle of the season to the very last game of the playoffs and then had another long term set back just by working out last summer. That isn't just a concern to me, it is a huge concern. |

if they are willing to walk away from Utley and doc, they will have $$ nxt yr, but they are apparently unwilling to take on a luxury tax this yr. nxt yr they will be counting on ashe to be at third...throw in the outfield mess & it starting to sound like a rebuild. |

Counting the bonus cushion and LTIR exemption for Pronger, and if the Flyers re-sign RFAs Rinaldo, Sestito, Wellwood & Gustafsson at their QO rates, They will have approximately $6mm to spend next season.
That would involve spending into the LTIR exemption. |

I look at a guy who came back and was probably their best defenseman before getting hurt against the Rangers. He's shown an ability to bounce back strongly after past injuries, which is every bit as valid as assuming he won't.
At least with this being a shoulder injury, he should be able to keep his conditioning up to par. |

Only time we were hassled up there was when the Flyers won (this was in the old building, mind you). Of course, one time we were there and my brother had popcorn thrown at him. It was so light and fluffy and dangerous! - Flyskippy

Both on tsn and sportsnet up here..everyone is still debating the Rinaldo fight..AAron Ward saying that Rinaldo will get his from all the other NHL enforcers, and Kypreos saying it was fine and that a fight is only over when it's over.
They are also debating a possible retribution fight in the Phoenix/Chicago game for the Torres hit.. - Hextall271
oh good lord, rinaldo did nothing wrong. if anything lecalvier deserves a puck to the balls. |

I have to laugh at this. I'm not saying he can't bounce back. I'm saying he has played four games and I need to see a lot more. |

Completely agree..Don't know when Vinny and the boys became such panzies. Crombeen got his anyways for going after Giroux in the previous game.. guess they forgot that what goes around comes around female doges. |
