I'm old enough to have bought concert tickets at the Showcase store at that mall when they were a Ticketron outlet.

- johndewar

I remember that but my days were Champs sports on the lower level and showcase upstairs. That mall has gone downhill fast. Scottos pizza i will always miss.

I heard Bernie wants to play himself in the bullies movie

Gonna need a stunt double for actual on ice scenes. Leighton probably won't be busy and could fill the role.

Counting the bonus cushion and LTIR exemption for Pronger, and if the Flyers re-sign RFAs Rinaldo, Sestito, Wellwood & Gustafsson at their QO rates, They will have approximately $6mm to spend next season.

That would involve spending into the LTIR exemption.

Well that's not too bad. Id still look into moving a roster player to move up in the draft/ create a little more wiggle room to bring in a top FA.

oh good lord, rinaldo did nothing wrong. if anything lecalvier deserves a puck to the balls.
- hammarby31

Rinaldo was borderline. I can understand why Tampa took exception to it. Plus, his reputation does not help him out at all.

That said, VL did what he had to do. It should've been expected.

Edit: Let me put it this way, had someone done that to a Flyers player, many of the folks here would be crying bloody murder.

Not sure I'd do that....say you move Voracek to move up in the draft and strike out on the top FAs...then you're screwed.

Good point.

Perhaps I underestimated the love for Talbot on this board.

i don't understand the mentality of exacting revenge on a different player. my mind doesn't work that way. it's why i didn't get the rinaldo fight against a player other than erskine after he elbowed simmonds. makes no sense to me. you take out the guy that committed the crime. unless we're talking about a star player being targeted and injured. then i understand the retaliation against a star for the opposition.

if he had been injured i could see some rage

i just don't get the rinaldo incident being a big deal, once the guy was on the ice he stopped punching

maybe it's just me

Crombeen was menacing Giroux the prior game. (Silly reason for "revenge" imho, but, whatevs.)

apparently Crombeen was chopping at giroux's wrists. if that's true, he got what he deserved.
