To me they played alright.

Hated seeing them sit back so much when the 3rd started. That was obviously coaching as they fell back into the 1-2-2 up until Florida tied it up.

Giroux and Briere need to get going.

Strong game by Coots and Read. Brayden Schenn looks to be (slowly) coming out of his funk.

Florida stinks. Giving away points to them and Washington of all teams is ridiculous.

the energy level was there, but he's not been able to generate any offense at all. giroux, briere need to start chipping in. the team played well enough to win that game.

why is it that no matter the opponent on a SO they absolutely embarrass the flyers goalies and our shooters embarrass themselves? seriously, it's a (frank)ing disgrace already.

His energy level to a degree yes. However his physical game is MIA more than anything. He needs to get it going. He took over games on his own last season and carried this team.

Hopefully the lines will change when Simmonds comes back. I thought Read adds a nice speed element with G and McGinn that Briere can't offer.

doesn't matter who it is. they could have thrown parros out there and he would have made some move he couldn't duplicate again if his life depended on it.

Once it went to the shootout the result was predictable. Have to bury teams like Florida at home.

I think they have that game if they dont sit back to start the third.

That, and well the PP I still dont like.

The focus is too much on Giroux and every team notices this. You notice on one sequence where Kimmo had the option to pass to Giroux or Voracek to set up a 1 timer. Before he even did so all of the Florida players were starting to head to Giroux.

When Kimmo passed to Voracek instead it seemed to catch them completely off guard.

Briere sucks on the wing. This has been tried over and over.

Team can't score. You aren't going to win a ton of games scoring two goals or less. That's all this team does.

theo is a beast in the shootout. you could tell florida was just playing to get there. OT was our chance.
- flyfan1212

agreed. they had 30something shots but most seemed harmless. a few good chances, but not nearly enough. this team seems like they're going to struggle mightily all year to score goals. when your key forwards don't contribute for 10 games at a clip, it puts a lot of pressure on the other guys and the goalie.

The thing to me is for the most part they have been lead offensively by secondary guys.

With this group they will have a hard time scoring for sure.

It would help a lot if Briere or Giroux put one in the net once in a while.

Yeah, Briere needs the space at centre.. he can't thrive along the wall.

Played pretty well in the overtime period. Couturier's shift in the OT was the best Flyers shift of the game by a wide margin.

Oh well. Figured two points were in the bank tonight. Brutal loss.

Yea and then voracek skates into a perfect shooting position and makes a very low percentage pass. Bottom line is he isn't a threat

I honestly think the Flyers will move of from Briere if they can sign a top forward in the off season.

If Simmonds comes back I'd like to see:

McGinn-Giroux-Read
Schenn-Briere-Simmonds
Voracek-Coots-Knuble
Feds/Sestito-Talbot-Rinaldo

well it seems like a lot of people are saying that briere is better at Center and so is Schenn. Only need 4 Center and G and Couts are 2.

When Hartnell comes back I would try Hartnell-Giroux-Read

When Simmonds comes back I would put him back on the top line with Giroux. Nothing against McGinn, but he's not a top line type of player. I like what I have seen from him and he deserves a spot in the lineup.

Schenn is a player that has (should have) a physical element to his game. He is more effective to me at wing than a guy like Briere.

Briere is a good player, but the whole wing experiment with him has been tried over and over. If you want to get production out of the guy, put him where he belongs.

Patrick Kane just put up two goals and an assist in 3 minutes 30 seconds.

Guy is scary good.

And 3 assists for Sharp in the same time frame. (frank)ing sickening.
