I am also for tanking in a shorten season, but if we are going to do it, lets do bit of a fire sale as well. Open up roster spots for next season. Trade anyone that has some deadline value like Stastny (for a Top 4D), Jones (another underachiving bad contract), Hunwick (pick), Zanon (pick), Hedja (pick) , The O'Bs (picks)

I like it , if we do that maybe then we can finally give our young boys some time to play and find there game .. To be ohnest i dont know why we sent elliot down last year he played 39 games had 13points and was PLUS +2!!! Now look at him ?? just an example of bad decision making .. Bottom line if we don't let the boys play there never gonna make that transition, that next step !!

Its a shortened season: Tank the team! Fired management/Coaches, Trade Statsny and O' Reily (This guy doesnt deserve 4-5 millions per season yet). Get high picks and build around Lando , EJ , Varly and Duchy.

i dont think D is the problem, it would be nice to get a scoring dman, but we have been shutout 3 times already this season. we need some scoring from EVERYONE.

I wouldn't fire sale the team. Stastny was good at one point. If anything I think he has suffered in Sacco's coaching system. He had one good year in Sacco's first year and then has been bad since. Also can anyone figure out Sacco's system?

I've been holding my tongue for quite some time about Hunwick, but it's time for this guy to either be scratched, traded, or waived already. I went to the game on Monday versus the Stars and haven't seen a player aggravate me so much like he did. He turned the puck over for the first goal, missed his assignment picking up the man in front on the second goal, and put the Avs down in a 5-on-3 when he took an idiotic roughing call after the Avs already were called for a penalty (learn to control your anger and handle that player later in the game). Just poor defense all around and we see it time and time and time again from him. Sacco needs to limit this kid or if it were me he wouldn't even see the ice in an Avs sweater again.

Sacco has no system, which is the problem.
Stastny needs a god coach and system, hes need someone like Quenneville again.

Defense needs a overall and we need some wingers.

Any of these coaches would be a huge upgrade, Roy, Quinn, Keenan
And to a lesser extent Carbonneau, MacTavish, Crawford

bc they have all won something as players or coahces. They know what it takes a team to get to the next level and get players to the next level. Sacco only knows 3rd line grind. Did accomplish anything as a player or as a coach,

I agree completely. Hunwick is horrible and just plain aggravating to watch. Zanon however is just as bad - he reminds me of Greg DeVries, good at blocking pucks but horrible at everything else. The problem with the Avs getting bigger is that the guys they assembled don't really have a mean streak, aside from SOB, and they can't clear the net. They let players waltz right in there time and again and take 4 whacks at the puck before somebody lightly shoves them away.

Like another person said, scratch Hunwick and let Barrie play. There will probably be the same turnovers but at least Barrie has potential. That and please trade Stastny for any decent player that is not invisible. No way Phoenix would trade Yandle for him though if they have watched him play for awhile.

I wonder if the Blue Jackets would want him, package him with one of our Dman, maybe a pick too, get Tyutin/Nikitin with Brassard/Foligno type return.

Move Hunwick to the wing with Duchene. The speed with that duo would be very tough to keep up with. Hunny has good offensive skill, but his defensive game is suspect. He looks good moving with the puck, but turns it over too much for a defenseman.
