I don't think it is. Terry Pegula seems to be hell-bent on the "great working environment equals great results" approach. He's not interested in firing people. - buffalofan19
I agree with TP on Darcy with his recent trades but Ruff imo is done.Theres no life in him on the bench. I dont know just a feeling he will be gone at the end of the season.By his own accord or other. |

Quick did not look like this last year, so I have to disagree with you. - HonkFortheGoose
Just dont count this team out.
I guess is all I am saying.
I have seen improvements these few last games against very good opponents.
Today was frustrating , no doubt about it.
Have faith. Good times are right around the corner.

It sucks they lost, but that was a good game to watch this morning, I felt like they were in that game, they just were not ready to start the game, but they got back into it, but to give away 2 goals so cheaply early on is damn frustrating and just put s you right behind it.
The thing is every game there always seems a couple of players that just out and out SUCK and disappear during the game. Pomminville was bad today, Stafford his usual soft self, trying to tippy toe around, hoping no one notices him, it is sad that Gerbe actually is more physical than Drew Stafford, really sad. Hecht just kills me, the biggest waste of a roster spot in the history of Pro sport I reckon, a young kid could possibly be scoring some points and getting game time, but we have iron hands on board - MikeyOz
The one thing I don't get was that the "Sabres didn't look ready" to start the game. I thought the effort and focus was fine. One goal was a really nice deflection. The other was a weird bounce that went Pittsburgh's way. Buffalo cut the lead in half before the first commercial break. The play was even throughout the entire game for the most part. Buffalo just didn't do what good teams do: find a way to come out on top. |

Right, having Kopitar, Carter, Richards, Gagne, Brown, Scuderi, Doughty had nothing to do with that stat. |

This team needs a culture change. The fastest way to do that right now is to bring in a new coach. - HonkFortheGoose
Do u think there is any chance of that happening before the offseason though?
I don't
And sorry for the "jerk" comment,
But frankly, you been nasty & condescending towards me lately and I don't appreciate it

Unless Darcy Regier and Lindy Ruff have some sort of falling out, Lindy Ruff isn't going anywhere. The owner loves him. And on top of that, he likes Regier too. Pegula will let him use "his people". And until Ruff does something to make Regier hate his guts, Ruff will always be "his people". |

It's becoming obvious vaneks line is holding him back.
Considering he's leading the nhl in points that's kinda sad.
Occasionally that line shows bursts of what they could be, but too often they seem plagued by problems a top line shouldn't be having as consistently as they do.
Hodgeson has shown me he has great potential. It's also obvious he's not quite there.
Scary to think what vanek could do with just one other Elite player |

Doesn't really matter. Coach/GM contracts aren't like player contracts. They could sign Ruff for 15 more years and fire him the next day. |

Terrible argument.
Hasek needed to go to a stacked Red Wings team to win a cup. If he never had a cup, does that make him a bad goalie? Khabibulin has a cup, why is he a backup? JS Giguere is 35 with a cup, hes no longer in the league. What happened? |

Darcy and Ruff aren't going anywhere anytime soon. If the slide down the standings continues I think it results in players being moved. The coach and gm are the last thing this organization is going to touch. |

If hodgeson continues to develop as he seems to be he appears to have some serious potential.
Ideally I'd still like to have a guarantee at 1C and stick him on the second line for the time being. Obviously an elite center doesn't just fall in your lap, so I'm satisfied with hodgeson given the opportunity. |

I know I just like Quick and his positioning and had to bring that up.Your right on the point.Id still take Quick over Miller.Just my opinion and Ive been consistant on Quick going back to the Olympics.I like Thomas 2 and he turned out pretty good too. |

No, actually, you haven't always been respectful to me. You were nasty to me when I said that Leopold wasn't that bad (this was before the 11-12 season even started). So don't get all holier than thou with me.
If you think me telling you that I don't think Girgensons is going to be traded is me being condescending, then honestly, you need to grow some thicker skin. I gave you reasons on why I don't see them moving him and you just kept harping on how he's not going to be able to contribute for a few years and that's why you'd trade him now.
In response to your hockey related question, no, I don't see anything happening until the offseason. But, I still think it's something that needs to be done. They changed the culture a bit by trading Roy and bringing in guys like Ott and Scott, but it's still a work in progress and I think the biggest culture change they can make is by changing the guy behind the bench. |

It is the blown plays that lead to those goals, not enough hustle, penguins had the play were moving the puck around, getting shots, Buffalo were still lacing up the skates, they might be lucky or flukey goals, but you make your own luck, the Hodgson goal was good initial hard work to get the turnover.
They just were not hustling from the get go, Buffalo played with them, but I think when the Penguins wanted to they upted the tempo and put the foot down and Buffalo were running around like headless chooks again |
