I was always under the impression that the supplementary discipline was to punish intent and actions above and beyond. He got the penalty on the ice, the group who review obviously felt that the last minute actions contributed to this accident. I do not see him lifting off the ice until that are in contact. I haven't been able to see this on video.

yes, but the act in itself, regardless of original intent also has to be considered. Even if the "intent" wasn't to injure, or wasn't perceived that way, the hit and act itself has to be examined. Plus, when you factor in that McDonagh had hit him on the prior shift, it's pretty easy to put two and two together, or so it appears that way to us, not the NHL.

Pie, I said I understand what your reference was and we are good, got it.

So, how did the appearance on TSN 690 go?

pretty good, was about fantasy hockey not Rangers-Canadiens, which was probably a good idea

Definitely, though the timing did lead me to believe it was about last night's game.

I really think this is a hard call. I do think that the turn to the left contributed to the hit, but I would not have been surprised if he had gotten a game or two. I guess they felt that the split second change in direction made this an "accident".
I looked at the video a few pages back and paused it at the 35 second mark, it does seem like at the start of the contact that his skates were on the ice, I guess the league office saw that also.

me too, but discussions on it started before the game and had little control as to the topic, plus was a shortened piece, only nine minutes

This thread is a trainwreck. I hate when we have hits like this, because ultimately ends up and 50 pages of crap, where the tape of the hits gets analyzed like the Zapruder film, and everyone loses their damn minds.

Worst thread in a long time.

Ah, bummer. Maybe I should seek out your advice on my FHL team. Of course it would help if I updated my lineup daily.

Well, I do think you and I had some good posts in there somewhere. I'm not exactly sure when and where but I'm confident we had some great contributions that were lost in the shuffle.

Funny, for some reason I have the Jackets-Hawks game on here. Jackets playing well but god they can't finish. Their offense is as dormant as the Rangers though they are creating better chances.

I don't want to rehash anything, but I'm dumbfounded Pacioretty wasn't suspended. I had already taken him out of my next week fantasy lineup anticipating him being out.

Yeah but I've given up trying to figure out what is worth and what isn't worth a suspension. I think the players might be somewhat confused too.

I bet if he hit a Bruin like that, he would get 3 games +

please tell me you didn't read through that 18 pages of verbal discard. Your boys taking it to the canes tonight. Why does Tavares have to be so good?

At this point I'd rather see Thomas than Mashinter.

Don't worry, they blew it. I cant stand (frank)ing Capuano and his poopty idea of coaching an NHL team. A first period TO up 2 in the 1st period to keep your 1st PP unit on the ice. (frank) you, Jack. This poop is acceptable on the Isle so I'm not shocked.

I read the last 5 or 6. Unreal, some of the posts I saw...

As Mike Piazza once remarked, "I'm not calling a grown man Chipper." I'm not calling a grown man "Patches."

Me too, I thought Mashinter could maybe take the place of Rupp and fight for us and give some good hits. Its only a small sample size thus far but I haven't been too impressed with him.

If he hit Crysby he would have been banned from the league.

I saw some of the game, turned the channel when they were up 2-0 and when I put it back later it was 2-2.. Geez...

Question, when the Isles move to Brooklyn will they be keeping the same unis? Or like the Nets when they moved are they going to make a "Brooklyn" jersey? Or has that not been decided yet?

The rangers are gonna be in serious cap trouble next year. Havs 10 mil to sign 5 players and mcdonough. And the "big 3" arent getting it done either. Safe to say they will use an amnesty buyout on brad richards.
