He wants these kids to play consistently but he does not consistently play them. It's mind boggling sometimes thinking about what his rational is. - climbdenali12
I have been the most critical person of Kreider on this board. But with that said, I want him to play on the third line, with Powe playing on the fourth. I certaintly don't want Kreider sitting in the press box when Mashinter and Bickel play. That just seems absurd to me, unless Torts expects a mid-season home game with the Winnipeg Jets to turn into a pier six brawl. |

I have always had a complaint about the schedule of the AHL. They play 3 straight days and then are off for a week.
But Kreider played 10 minutes on saturday, no shots on goal.
Christian Thomas was out there for 10 seconds and had a shot on goal.
Kreider, and Miller too, need to effing shoot the puck. It's getting very aggravating |

Makes sense. Thanks, Jim.
This season is starting to wear on me I'll tell ya. Everything that Torts does annoys me. I just think sometimes he tries to be too smart by half. Is he really expecting the type of game tomorrow night where the Rangers need both Bickel and Mashinter in the lineup over Kreider? Maybe I'm just cranky. - Pete V
Thomas sent down, which means there is a spot opened up, I don't remember if Powe was put on the IR, if so it's to take him off
As far as Kreider sitting in favor of Mashinter and Bickel I think one thing we always seem to do is fill one hole and open up another, we need toughness but then we lack secondary scoring, we try to fill that roll and become weaker, it's a constant frustration. Why Haley isn't up over Mashinter is beyond me, he's faster and tougher. |

He hasn't missed an opportunity to defend a teammate.
9 fighting majors and I believe it was last week that he went after a player for dirty hit, I've never seen an officiating crew anticipate a fight quicker, they immediately had Mcilrath corralled. - HankdaTank
...and the hammer has been lifted.
Now, I can't wait to see McIlrath. Looked like maybe it could happen with all these injuries but its obviously great news Girardi & Mac are gonna be ok. Big Mac (McIll) might be the toughest Ranger D man pound for pound since Beukeboom, something sorely needed on this soft bunch. |

I believe he was, and I think Nash is off IR now, but who knows. |

the problem is that Nash has a concussion and the let him play two games after the hit.
Torts or anyone else, they do not want to answer the question as to why he was allowed to play those two games, that's the primary reason for not disclosing what is going on with Nash.
especially considering how they handled Marc Staal's concussion, I think they are going to have no comment regarding Nash for as long as they can. - jimbro83
There could be serious repercussions if he played with a concussion...I don't know for the life of me why the NHL, NFL, et al. won't adopt strict concussion protocols like they do in college and high school. If a player is concussed, full disclosure, must be inactive for x and symptom free...if they did that he might be a lot closer to returning...he may have worsened his condition by playing!....assbags! |

Let me explain. No, there is too much. Let me sum up. Nash is going in for concussion test in a little less than half an hour. So all we have to do is get in, steal the test results, replace them with clean bill of health, make our escape... after I lock Mike Sullivan in a closet.

this is exactly why we aren't getting any info on Nash. 100% the reason why |

If it is true its probably the 2nd or 3rd he has taken in the last 2 weeks.... |

If this is the case and I love the Rangers, the union should intervene b/c this is the 2nd case and who knows what was really going on with Sauer....I don't want to see McDonagh anywhere near the rink if there is the slightest question... |

Sauer hasn't played since his concussion, I don't in that case the Rangers have done anything wrong there.
But, Marc Staal played a lot of games after the concussion he suffered a couple of years ago and the Rangers definitely screwed up there.
Which again, is why they aren't offering any answers to Rick Nash |

The Sauer thing I agree with but they messed up the Staal thing, where is the learned lesson??? Thats what I'm getting more and more annoyed with...the facts will come out and if the Rangers are covering their tracks its going to look even worse...
This is what happened with Crosby, remember the spin doctoring Bylsma had to do while answering questions of whether Crosby played with a concussion then promptly got his head bashed into the glass again, he was out what? the next 16 months?? At least the NFL, once a player is concussed there is somewhat of a prorocol with IMPACT testing and steps they have to go through, the NHL has to get tougher when it comes to protecting these players from themselves and maybe their own coaching staffs... |

I just wanted to agree with you that Shanahan is a clown. I would give him this bit of advise, since the league has a concussion epidemic, you're better off erring on the side of a suspension. By way of example, if a player turnbuckles a guy's head into the glass like Shea Weber did to Zetterberg, suspend the guy. The Pac hit should have been suspended, even if you consider it a close call, because you need deter these guys from making these type of hits. If you don't, your pretty much paying lip service to safety issues. |

You guys see Carp's tweet about an hour ago? "Nash -- you now have my permission to panic."
He was supposedly at practice today, so I wonder what he knows. |

Even MLB has a 7 day DL, they have the least contact out of any sport, the NHL has no interest in protecting players, remember this group players when they file a class action lawsuit in 20 years. |

They need to stop with this principle point of contact BS...a reckless hit is a reckless hit...you leave your feet you lose control of your body...its reckless...I don't care if its 6 inches or 6 feet...you get someone like Chris Neil who is a master at head hunting w/o hitting guys in the head initially...give me a break so the elbow or shoulder that hits the head second is less damaging? I love it when they Chris Neil never been suspended, like that matters, nobody does! |

Well, you bring up another point...the NFL ia being sued by everyone, including every single waterboy that has even been on an NFL payroll, don't you think the NHL would view that as a legal precedent and be proactive?? So lets have disciplinary hearings and only hear one side of the story, what do you think Pacioretty said? "Yes Shanny, he pinned me up against the boards so I went after him to seek out revenge and knock his head off of his shoulder"? If you are going to have a hearing then shoudln't victims be heard?? This is due process?? Then have no hearing, I don't recall the NFL having hearings when they see a hit that could result in fines...suspend these guys with appeals then throw the appeals out the window like they do in baseball and football...its backwards! |

Did get to see the game. I read through all the comments though and saw nothing on Christian Thomas. I want to watch a replay or something of the game and see how he did but what about some feedback here? |
